I watche Endland the other night and thought the performance was quite poor, it reminded me a lot of how TP gets stoke to play, ie sit back, defend and hopefully nick a goal. How we can play like this with the players we have is beyond me, and If Hodgson thinks that playing like this will beat any of the top 10 teams then he is dafter than I thought. I was disappointed that Harry Rednapp didnt get the job but now I am distraught!!!, ill tell you this for nowt if Harry had managed that game on Saturday it would have been far more entertaining and we would be going the Euros with a lot more confidence and excitement!!

I will still support him fully throughout the tournament, but I thought maybe he would be playing better, more attacking football................................................., its like watching Stoke!!!!! ha ha

He's clearly trying to build a strong, reserved team. In the world cup, we tried to match Germany's passing and fluid play and got destroyed. We just simply didn't have the players. We can't go to the Euro's and play the Dutch, Krauts or Spanish with a passing, expansive style. Woy is just playing to the team's strengths.

Well, playing with the tactics shown on Saturday we definately wont beat any of them, against Germany we had all of the old guard playing who just arent good enough. With the players we have going forward all we have to do is hit the channels and Welbeck, Defoe and Young will do the rest. There is just no speed in any of the attacks and we look absolutely clueless. Fo the goal all we did was play the ball in behind and let the fast forwards do the rest but we cant hold the ball long enough to do it..........................................., then again they are all only on about
£150000 a week so being able to pass a ball is a lot to expect.

I hear what you are saying but playing this way IMO we will be stuffed by any of the top 10 teams, and as for when we played Germany I dont think we really tried to pass the ball or even give it a go TBH. We never tried to match Germanys passing, we just didnt know what to do with the ball or how to find space to receive the ball (which is the simplest part of football which 7 year olds are taught). The players just dont seem to have any confidence and setting a team up like this will not give them any as we will only get 40% posession at best. I really hope im wrong (because ive just bought my new England top and want to get some wear out of it lol).

    Come on England!!!!!!!!!!!

Roy has neither the players nor the time to completely changed the way England play. It's not the tactics which were the problem against Belgium, it was the players. Roy can't exactly go out and buy a player to change that, can he?

To say all we have to do is hit the channels is naive. If we had players like Xavi in the middle we could play differently but with Steven "Hollywood pass" Gerrard running the show, we are going to have to play the same way we always have. Rooney is our only world class attacker (Ashley Cole is our other world class player), and he will miss the first two games by which point we may very well already be out.

    This <ok>
Ric I would even go as far to say that, WE STOKE actually ATTACK with the ball more than England did v Belgium. OK, this fallout Terry v Rio didn't help. BUT I actually fell asleep watching both games. Bored stupid but it's not all Roy H's fault. Personally, I would have said "Sod" even trying to win the thing. PLAY the U21s for some experience and see where we get to! WILL ANY of those like Gerrard, Rio, Terry, Lampard and a few more be TOO old for the next World Cup? Of course they will.

Start from the bottom and work upwards.. right now it's just a shambolic situation IMHO.

I may even support the Irish.. Whelan, Walter's, Keane and Co.. they actually look like a TEAM. England certainly do not on the evidence of these two friendlies.

Its not naive its playing the best tactics with the players we have, we cant pass so its the best option with the forwards we have. Im not saying play like Spain but sitting back and letting them come at us will maybe get you out of the group but we will be destroyed against a top 10 team. We all know we arent going to win it so why not have a go?, it makes no sense to me. Personally I will be surprised if we get out of the group playing like this.

I wanted Germany to win, can't stand Ronaldo or Nani.
But I do hope they investigate and ban the German fans throwing things.

To be fair, Portugal did basically nothing going forward until the last five mins... crap to watch and Ronaldo isn't the same player when he's with average player's.
HONESTLY, with Rooney playing, a half decent performance, we (ENGLAND) can do better than some expect IMO. Holland v Denmark was'nt that good either.

I'm supporting Whelan and Co tonight anyhow. <ok>
