I wasn't at todays game, but as soon as Tony Cottee reported on Sky that Aidey White had been sent off, I feared the worst. Every Leeds United fan knows the problem with the team is the defence, it appears to have been this way for some time and I would suggest we haven't had decent centre backs since Lucas Radebe and Jonathan Woodgate. My question is whether Grayson is really under pressure, I mean it's now 3 defeats out of five games and except for the West Ham game, we have played some of the worst football I have ever watched a Leeds side play (except everything we did under Blackwell). But Bates likes Grayson, he is a "yes" man and doesn't have anything to do with Bates main objective, which is to build what he wants at ER and then own the main part of it for future sale on value. So would Bates sack Grayson, probably not, but he may appear as if he is concerned to the media, simply to appease some of the Leeds fans. I'm not into sacking managers this early, I go along with the "let's wait till Christmas and see how we are then" opinion, but it's not looking that great just now and unless we get two more than decent centre backs, we could be in real trouble. I've said this once and I will say it again, GET DANNY WILSON IN FOR A SEASON LONG LOAN FROM LIVERPOOL, he's a cracking player for his age and is seeking regular football. Other than Danny Wilson, who else is there that we could afford or would want to drop a league? I'm not panicking, just concerned, but like many others I'm mighty fed up with us having yet another midfield or forward player linked or brought in on loan, and not a single "decent" defender, I do not count O'Dea, as he is simply fecking pish.
Get beat in next game he is sacked! Why not do it now and save the season with next 7 days with sone who we can trust to get better players in?
Bob I haven't been O'Dea's greatest fan but he looked ok today,did nothing wrong. Trouble is we need more than ok,we need quality,& we haven't got any defensive quality. I was there & I just knew,from a position of total domination,that we'd go on to lose. Apart from the young lad White,who dithered instead of knocking the ball into row Z,the blame for this defeat lies with Grayson. Bad decision taking off a battler like McCormack off who could easily have nicked another goal. He should have sacrificed airy fairy Howson,captain or no captain. Even Snoddy showed more leadership qualities today. At the end of the day though its a disgrace the defence hasn't been sorted out yet.
