Sky Sports say Rochdale have made a bid for Terry Gornell. This seems credilble as he was top scorer for the new Rochdale boss Coleman at Accrington last year. Should he go if we get a decent bid? If he does go that leaves us very short up front for a few games - should we try to get an experienced replacement at short notice in the dreaded January window?
I would be inclined to keep him unless we get an offer in excess of £100,000 for him - his touch and awareness are superb. He doesn't have a great goalscoring record yet, but hit 13 last season for Accy and is only 23. It will come, I'm sure.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11765/7464326/Dale-in-bid-for-Gornell I seriously hope not, really think he is a good player for us. He must have another 18 months on his contract too.
Nooooooooooooooo...if we really serious about promotion Roland should keep him at all costs..this will be a big test of our commitment for promotion!!...we cant keep selling our better players and expect to get out of this division!!
I think I agree with those who want him to stay - with Marvin suspended this is his big chance to establish himself as a first choice and we have yet to see the best of him - we do not want to be held to ransom by other clubs when we are desperately seeking a replacement with two days left in the transfer window. We are in with a good shout of automatic promotion and must not do anything to endanger that even if it means turning down a quick profit.
On B&A a swap involving Grimes was mooted (plus a wad of cash) I'd keep Gornell for sure, but if he is to go then that would be the obvious deal for me.
