Okay his finishing last season was excellent. However he didn't create himself many chances. I thought he was poor as a lone front man. Rarely did the ball stick.

Now to be fair to him Messi would have struggled with the supply he got last season.

I've no idea when he will be fit. Paolo has never seen him play for us. Will Paolo fancy him as his main striker? For me pound for pound Bent is the better striker. Will Fletcher get a full pre season?

    So what will Paolo do

That's because the poor sod had to come into his own half just to get a touch a lot of the time.

Our best striker by a country mile. Got a great touch. He's not very strong but he can lay off the ball extremely well. Provided there is support for Fletch his lack of strength isn't an issue as he doesn't have to protect the ball for a long period of time, just lay it off.

When Fletch played he just got the ball lumped to him and he was all alone with no one supporting so he had to try and hold it up, but like I said he's not the strongest

Think we will see an even better return from Fletcher next year under the more positive Di Canio as he will have plenty of support and supply.

That's the way I see it

The thing is we don't know if Paolo fancies him, he fits into paolo's idea of a striker or the way he wants to play.

I do think we will keep Fletcher. I'm not convinced he will be our number one striker next season?

What was his record before he got injured? 11 or 12 in how many games?

It was 11. Not sure how many goals but with how we were playing that is fantastic, he'd be lucky to get a chance a game

In a sinking ship with a clueless manager who played not to lose rather the played to win. Yes he will score goals. If he understands when to move and when not too then he's a keeper and will get goals in a good or bad side. Did it at Wolves and us last season. That must stand for something...

Paulos already said he can't wait to work with him and make him even better.
He used to drift out to the wings abit too much for my liking, but I'm sure that was frustration of not seeing much of the ball. Sometimes we'd have no one in the box because of this. Paulo will work on him and make him even better IMO .

Not Fletchers biggest fan but, he did well enough to warrant another go. This time around under PDC he will probably get the 15/20 he should be getting, as said he was feeding on scraps under MON so 11 in 28 while not brilliant was not a disaster.

I'm with you MO on this one. He will get 20 goals a season with decent service and keeping fit.

It's not hard to be our best striker though is it. He has played in relegation teams he has to bare so responsibility for that on some level.

As I've said his finishing is great, it's the rest of his game. That and of just exactly when will he be fit?

I think he is class personally and would be an asset in any team. He is ten times better than the likes of Carroll and in a better team that actually creates rather than simply defends will easily get 15 to 20 goals a season imo.
