He does actually appear to be talking some good common sense at the AGM, maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt ... for now! http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/21718/club-trio-face-fans-questions
Not having it Warky. There weren't the wages to bring Boyd or Austin or others to the club but there are wages for all these loan players. Clegg doesn't take responsibility for anything.
I cant believe I just read this. Either Im going mad or everyone else. I assume its me. You went to the game with a Clegg out banner but now think you may have made a mistake?
are yes ,today the wind is blowing in this direction, tomorrow it will be blowing??????????? in that direction
JWM, I think it's a case of 'sun is shining today' and therefore everything seems slightly more positive. I read through (most of) that and felt something similar in that he made some good points and responded to some tough questions with reasonable answers. Could he be as much of an arse as we think? That said he will go and 'snatch defeat from the jaws of victory' and do something ridiculous and ruinous for our club and we will all go back to hating the guy again as all he has proven that he is a good politician and has a learnt a little in his time being here. But ultimately he can't rectify the fact that he doesn't really have a clear role to do other than Pi55 off the fans...
Talking a good game is one thing, making it all happen is entirely another I am sure they are probably doing their level best for the clubs best interests (and themselves of course) but would suggest if the next manager appointed does not get you guys out of the drop zone, then you can say he has no idea. Two poor successive managers might be unlucky but three would just simply be careless.
He could have got lucky, and we'd be singing his praises just as has happened to McNally, but the truth is he'd be found out in the end. His attitude is all wrong and until that changes he will need to rely on luck more than judgement.
A few days ago you would of said ''look what bullshit Clegg is trying to fob us off with now'' You have to admit, jwm, you change your mind more than a woman.
Best quote of that night from Clegg: "I’ve had a lot of spurious applications for the managers’ job today on the basis of FIFA football game experience. I could ignore them, but I make sure everyone gets a response. A lot of you in here have e-mailed me and I always try and respond. You may not like my answers, but I always try and respond." A lot of people must have had a read this little gem from 2006 http://www.lettersofnote.com/2011/02/you-were-of-course-outstanding.html
That's fantastic - hadn't seen that before but just makes me wish that we had a chairman like Steve Gibson
Hear that Essex County Cricket Club are looking for a new C.E.O, as David East is leaving. Not sure what Clegg knows about cricket, but he knew f*** all about football before coming here, and it appears he is still struggling, so that should not be a problem, perhaps we should send Essex a few references.
