Apart from Ash he it the one constant.
Not much has really changed and he seems to have escaped criticism.

Let's not forget Carr surely recommended the likes of Gomis and Ayew - we were just tight ****s. And I doubt it's him that strictly enforces the age policy. Ashley wants them young and relatively cheap, with the hope of big returns. So Carr does his research and speculates, making recommendations, some being ignored, some being pursued further. There's only so far you can go with this policy before you end up buying a few duds, and then there are other things to consider, like young, inexperienced foreign players needing time to adapt (some hit the ground running, some don't). Should we be broadening our stance? Absolutely. But if the club want things done a certain way then Carr must simply fall in line, and it would be the same with any other person in his stead.

Plus it's not like he has strings controlling how some of these ****s play on the pitch.

Historically I'd say its been the owner. This year having spent money I believe the football boards misspent the cash, and the manager has had a shocker so far.

He is part of the problem, he is the one who signed most of the players over the last 2 years. £32 million last year and £48 million this year. This has included players like Riviere, Cabella, Thauvin and Mitrovic (doesn't look like he can play without getting sent off much). Also responsible for us getting Haidara and Sissoko on this seasons evidence so far they are all poor buys. Biggest problem is Ashley and his habit to appoint managers who have failed in lower league McClaren (Derby and Nottm Forest) and Pardew (Charlton and Southampton), not the way to run a football club.

He will produce a list as all scouts do, and it will be up to the football board from there, so he has no control of how far down the list they go.

Let's not batter Haidara either. Historically our defensive coaching has been beyond woeful, so if we expected him to improve, as he would have done at any other club, then that's shame on us!

Yeah but he doesn't have a base level that is good enough to develop. Its just a bad pick on Carr's part. He's quick. That's great. So is Patrick Van Aarnholt.

Carr is just doing his job and doing it fairly well.
Ashley should never have came out and said we had all of that cash. Prices rose because of that. Think Austin.

We don't know the remit Carr has had or the parameters. I therefore find it difficult to judge his work. Not being funny but if I had the remit of say Chelsea or Man Citys scouting network, I reckon I could do a good job <laugh>

Van Aanholt's a better player from what I've seen, looked good last year, been poor from what I've seen this year.

Don't know how you can put the blame on Carr - he's only a glorified scout. I think McLaren needs to get them sorted out - we currently look like a team of individuals with no real team ethos and no spirit. It's the manager's job to get them playing as a team. He obviously had a say in who he wanted so now he needs to get them playing, and quick.

McClaren has to take part of the blame. Carr the scout, sure Carr had final say on transfers last summer when we made poor signings. Ashley, Charnley, McClaren, Carr and the players all have to take part of the blame. Can think of one or two others as well.
