It makes a change for another club to be making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Did anyone else hear the journo on 5 Live speaking about the press / commentary box at Cardiff. There is a microphone hanging from the ceiling with a note on the wall stating that there is 'continuous recording'. They were speculating that Tan is not sort of person to 'let go'and allow OGS to get on with managing. I suspect Tan makes Flavio look like Chairman of the year! I don't think the Cardiff headlines are over yet by a long way. If OGS actually manages to create stability and a few wins, he might be able to steady the ship - he does seem full of enthusiasm. You do have to wonder whether he really understands what he has let himself in for.
He make tango look sane, its definitely heading towards a catastrophe, he's the type who would walk away with the money and leave them in 100m worth of debt and in admin.
Insane owner, end of. But in Solskjær they have one of the brightest, hard working and forward thinking managers around. He'll soon make the Cardiff fans forget about Malky. Solskjær is no fool and he would never have taken the job unless he would be in complete controll. It's not like this is the first offer he has recieved, turning down Villa, Blackburn and WBA in the past. Very, very envious on Cardiff on this signing as OGS would have been the perfect manager to take our club forward with Warren Farm and new stadium around the corner. Hope is though as long as Tan is in charge that OGS might become available sooner rather than later.
I agree Flyer. Their only hope is to get some good results. OGS's first PL game is West Ham at home then away to both Manchesters (!!) then home to Norwich. Maybe 4 points there I suppose.
I note that all Norwegians are speaking very highly of him and I did not know he had managed the Man U development team (or was it youth??). Maybe he is our destiny if Cardiff goes 'Tan shaped'.
First sign of improvement today. Two inspired substitutions and voila. 2-1 win at St James Park is a great debut. He is extremely strong when it comes to motivation and building player confidence. There is always attacking intent, he want's the players to express themselves. The way he transformed his club Molde who never in their 100 year history had won the league, to back to back champions during his first two seasons was nothing short of exceptional. His last season started poorly but they finished strongly and won the cup in the process, the cup means a lot in Norway just like in England. He is very different to Solbakken who did badly with Wolves. While Solbakken had an even better CV than OGS, his methods is more European and consist mostly of scouting and organisation. Solskjær have learned from the best and has his strength in man management and motivating, much like Ferguson.
I agree with you Norway. Unfortunately I doubt OGS will be coming to QPR now. I expect him to excel at Cardiff and move sooner or later to a bigger Club - I fully expect him to be Man U Manager in a few seasons. He was their reserve team trainer before he left them I believe. He got off to a great start today with his 2 Subs scoring the winning goals - typical OGS.
