He did not look like he had a clue yesterday... the Mourinho magic is wearing off on him quicker than we thought. Looks like Rodgers needed a couple more years as teaboy before managing the Slippers
wouldn't say so. br is definitely in it for the long term as his footballing philosophy and choice of players shows, where as mourinho will probably finish this season with chelsea and then f** off (regardless of trophies)
Isn't the average age of your squad older than ours? Even out of our older ones, I would dare to suggest Costa will last longer than Balotelli. I would say Hazard Oscar Schurrle Salah Courtois Zouma are all young and have been bought for long term. JM: "“We have the squad that we want to have,” he said. “It is a squad for tomorrow, for next season and also a squad with big possibilities for the next five or 10 years with so many young people. So I like my squad very much."
I saw this and thought another boring London thread but then I saw the "Make us Dream" option in the poll and have to admit it did make me chuckle.
yeah good point but not what i was getting at. I'm saying that BR will no doubt be at the club for many years to come (unless he does ****, then he should be sacked) where as mourinho will inevitably leave in 1-3 years time regardless of how well he does, leaving you to hunt for another manager who might not get on well with the players you've got
Brenda says "We are not at the standard we were last season." That can mean one thing 6th place is best Liverpool will get
Played OK against City and Southampton and Spurs. Awful in the last 2 games. Right now we have a new defence, only Sahko was there last season and he hasn't even really bedded in yet, Agger Skrtel plaid most of the time. So a new defence and fullbacks, new striker, midfielders ect. Rodgers hasn't even had time to shoehorn in Can and co, they have yet to fit into the system Balotelli also has to play the system, he's obviously not used to the type of game he is being asked to play and he still doesn't look 100% fit. The best we could hope for before a ball was kicked was top 4. 3rd would be good. A tradesman is only as good as his tools and Rodgers lost his favourite hammer in the summer
You missed out the 'yet' at the the end of the quote you mong. Last night we got the 3 points that's the most important thing - yeah we've got some work to do, but when our best player is out and we throw a brand new striker up front alone things won't click immediately. Once Sturridge and Balotelli get that understanding with Sterling in the mix too - we'll be flying again. Our new LB Moreno could be the buy of the season, shown signs of pure quality, and that was a major position we needed to fill. I'd say since Riise was at his best we've never quite had that quality on the left - but Moreno is DA MAN
That's because we have a standard you know, your manager spent 160m and has 1 win from 4 and it was QPR
