I went up to Bristol yesterday to watch a mate fight. He won by knockout and good job too... the decisions by the judges to that point had been nothing short of a disgrace. A young boxer named Shabazz Khan was totally robbed because he was fighting a 'home' fighter of the club.

A total shambles at amateur level and we've seen awful decisions at Pro level many times - is there any hope for Boxing if this continues?

What possible use can it serve for a boxer to be awarded a decision when he knows full well that he got schooled?

Ha yep happends alot. I fought in Wales a few weeks ago...didnt get the call after having one of the most one sided bouts I been in. Can see why people walk away or do that un-licensed malarkay.

What show was it? Broadplain?

I have seen loads of "upcoming" fighters be awarded decision against 2-55 record journeymen who clearly got the better of them. Seems its a record padding process upto around 10 fights then they may actually "lose" fight

It was Broadplain, the Police ABC...<ok> My mate knew he had to knock the kid out so it made the tactics easy. It really is spoiling the sport and I fail to see how it helps anybody.

Although sparking out a copper was a great thing to watch! <laugh> ... all legal too!

I know what you mean but these circumstances were much different - both were young fighters, early teens I reckon, and i've honestly never seen a more one-sided 'fight' in my life. Khan was robbed and i'm pretty sure that Amir's Dad was there in the lads corner...<yikes>

That the super heavy bout im thinking? I left before then! Heard about it tho.

Yes indeed Amirs Dad did work the corner as it was Bury ABC.

Im only at AM level but when you train 4-6 weeks for a bout then get your pants pulled down because you in the wrong area its a bit depressing and makes you wonder why. Must be worse for younger lads who dont understand the politics.

Pros money is involved so you see why it happens, Not agreeing with it at all. But Ams is a different story although it happends right up to international level.

the thing about boxing is the scoring is open to interpretation you can score for effective aggresion, defence shots landed punches thrown etc. the judges answer to know one and if u argue they say its just the way they saw it and you cant argue with someones opinion. i think all boxin should be scored like the olympics it should be scored on shots landed it would force fighters to exchange and would also make fighters thing before they thrown a punch it is why boxers who fight in the olmypics tend to be better rounded fighters than those who dont. mayweather, DLH etc.

is boxing corrupt? almost definatly, inadequate drugs testing , not an overall governing body, scoring being inconsistant. its probably the most corrupt sport out there but it is only corrupt because there are so many oppertunitys to break the rules and no one to answer too.

Bent as hell at lower levels. MMA stuff is no different. It gets better the higher you go but you still see plenty shockers. Particularly in Germany!

Yep, it was the super-heavy bout - they save the best 'til last! <laugh> ...what was the report you heard?
