I've just been reading that Arsene feels he can get the Gooners into the runners-up spot this season! I have a feeling that winning by the odd goal in 3 against the mighty Aston Villa, has had a wierd effect on him! He'll be talking about winning trophies next!
Men in white coats,at the ready please !!

Wouldn't put it past him to be honest. It would be classic Wenger - spend half the season spannering about giving Gooners grey hair, then as soon as he has no chance of winning anything he pulls a winning run out of the bag, ends up in a respectable position and saves his job again.

IIRC he got ten points more than Chelsea and Spurs in the last 11-12 games last season, nothing to say he won't do the same when compared to City this season. They've been ****e so far, but they were ****e until this stage last year.

Besides which, everyone needs an ambition. And the 2nd place trophy is a lot bigger and shinier than the 4th place trophy...

I think ultimately, the only reason we will finish top 4 is because Arsenal are worse. That's the only reason.

I guess with Arsenal's season being over before March AGAIN, he has to give the gooners something to hope for!!

City were quality till we beat them last season and then **** till this stage from then! Can not see Arsenal overtaking City. Most likely could pop us to a top four spot, I reckon Spuds and them will get CL places.

So why does a City fan, feel the need to have a go at Arsenal's manager on the Chelsea board. If you want to discuss Arsenal come to our board and say it otherwise feck off.

  10. I'd have to agree with you, there.

Whinger is definitely a far better manager than Coco, but you have the advantage of having, not only the better team, but the more settled team. No side has any right to look to a top 4 spot on losing the likes of Fabregas, RVP, and Bendtner in successive seasons.

Strangely, you seem to assume Spurs getting top 4 is a forgone conclusion. Given the fixtures that remain I'm amazed you can be beaming with such confidence. At least 5/11 games are against sides that can realistically expect to take points off you.

At the moment it could be any of us Spurs or Arsenal that miss out on a CL spot.
    It is so close.
We have the better run in, and arguably the better team of the 3 overall.
BUT, Spurs are showing bags of team spirit, good form, and have a great player who is on fire at the moment.
Arsenal seem as disjointed and inconsistent as we are, but you can never write them off. 2 or 3 times I have thought, "Nah they are gonna miss out this year" and everytime they pull it together for the last 5-10 games (usually when they are out of every other comp, which they usually are by February/March) and claim a top 4 spot.

Then there is us......we have a some great attacking players (minus an in form striker) but our defence looks totally suspect and unbalanced when JT doesnt play, and we have a total plank in charge, who is not only tactically inept, but does not have the support of the players or the fans, which is poisoning our team spirit.

This last two months of the season are what SAF calls "Squeaky Bum Time"

we play arsenal this weekend and still have to play stoke away; swansea away; Liverpool away; Man city home Chelsea away; Everton home ------we could drop plenty of points in those games....last year those matches led to us winning just 2 drawing 3 and losing 2...that's just 9 points from a possible 21.
We also have to play sunderland (who will put everyone behind the ball) fulham, southampton (fighting relegation) - all at home We also have wigan away (fighting relegation).
I think that Arsenal spurs and chelsea have it all to fight for and there will be plenty of twists and turns in the coming 10 or 11 matches
