I have read about players being superstitious before going out to play a game. Left boot laces tied before right boots, last one out of the tunnel, touching a bit of the stadium on their way out.

I have also read of fans refusing to shave until their team loses, wearing "lucky" underpants, or even drinking only one brand of beer before a game.

Are we on this board even slightly superstitious or far too reasoned for such things. I did find that my "lucky" Bordeaux was working wonders until I drank it all and couldn't get anymore of the same vintage.

Do you have a ritual before or during a game?

The only thing i do, is i have to be the first one through the turnstile and i then run through the entrance and up the steps. I also have to sit on the seat allocated to my ticket, even if it means splitting up the group we are in. I used to have what i thought were lucky socks and bracelets, but that stopped a few weeks later!!

I thought that was a given?? Does anyone actually leave a pint unfinished through choice?

when i play i have to do opposites. For example if i start with my left shinpad when putting them on i have to put my right sock on first to balance it out. And then having put my RIGHT sock on first i have to put my LEFT boot on first to balance that out.

The only problem came when our keeper got sent off once and as captain i decided to go in goal but had forgotten which boot i put on first and then didn't know which glove i needed to start with to keep my superstition. I plumped for my right glove (meaning i thought i started with my left boot) and i conceded four in half an hour! Now i always keep a mental note.

Generally not, apart from 1 game - the 06 play-off final. As we were going along the M4 and there were the signs of which junctions the coaches and cars for both clubs had to take, I saw that the junction WFC coaches had to turn-off at was 32. I immediately turned to my eldest (who was 10 at the time) and said "I think that's the junction we used to take when Grandad (my Dad) took me to Uni". When we turned off and I saw the sign that said it was the turn-off for the A470 to Merthyr, I then said to him "Yes, it is the turn off, we're going to win today" and we all know what happened. :)

I always drink out of my Watford mug in the morning. Always put lippy on last, and the friends i go with always buy the programme from the same programme seller (and if he doesn't say 'enjoy the game' we're doomed.).

Always cross myself before the players come out on the pitch. Funny as I am not religious

My Arsenal-supporting wife describes me as a 'Watford mug'. BTW, lippy on first for me, always.

lol...as long as you don't take your socks of last...that'd be bad ;)

Btw, he didn't say 'enjoy the game' today...that says it all!
