the media coverage of Leicester City winning the PL? How many more times must we be treated to a load of folks from Timbuktu or Phnom Penh or Bogota with blue shirts on and flags waving celebrating when we all know that they had never heard of the club 12 months ago. They interviewed one guy who said he was an Arsenal fan at the start of the season but switched his allegiance to Leicester when they went top! They've also roped in a Buddhist monk ffs! Intensely irritating and unfortunately going to go on for months if not years.

Would Spurs have got the same amount of coverage had they won the league?

Probably helps that the manager is a good guy and they have some rag to riches stories in their squad..

Mind you Leicester have achieved something quite special which gives others some hope (if the top teams have another poor season) ...

Test is now keeping all their top players and Ranieri whilst coping with no doubt the great increase in pressure and expectation...particularly from "new fans"

Of course all the Far east stuff is because Leicester are owned by Thais - they wouldn't know where Leicester is usually!

I'm happy for it to run and run....not because it's Leicester but because it's one in the eye for the same few clubs who generally sit near the top of the PL and whinge like mad when they don't win it.

Raises the question of who are the top teams now. Guardiola will need time at City and will try to adapt them to his system - like at Bayern. United are not going to be a great force under Van Gaal, Chelsea will have a new manager who is already not popular there and Wenger still has a big question mark over his ability to win big matches. The top 3 next year could be Leicester, Spurs and a resurgent Liverpool.

Should you not include Watford and their new coach Jose Mourinho in the top 3? :emoticon-0105-wink:

We just need Northern Ireland "to do a Greece" and win the Euros.

When the Community Shield was played in August (Chelsea v Arsenal), I wonder what the odds were on the 2016 one being Leicester v Palace? It's just 1 game away from being a reality.

    Oh God NO, please, NO!!
Once again we'd never hear the end of it, especially in those mangled vowels they call the NornIron accent.
I am already building my media-free hermit's cave in Rijrode Acres for the summer.

i was bored by it on the day they won it! lol...but the build up to it was just as bad....they have taken over from Bournemouth as the new media darlings and i'm guessing they will finally be over it by Christmas (hopefully!). I've started listening to music, it must be bad! lol

It is a consequence of the media with 24 hrs news coverage needing to fill up space on their programmes by constant repetition of the same thing. It's the same when there is a terror attack or some other major event, you see the same footage and comments/interviews over and over again. It's about time the media realised less is more.

I'm enjoying it. Anything that keeps the usual suspects off the back page is good. It will soon be over, especially when the recriminations start for England's failure next month.

And in reply to all those complaining about it, how long would you expect the media to be all over us if WFC had won it ? And for how long would you be celebrating ? And if the media coverage finished quickly as you seem to want, how long before you complained that little clubs get ignored ?
It sounds like 'dog in a manger' to me.
The significance of LCFC's achievement should not be lost on anyone. It is one of the best things to have happened to our money-bloated Premiership since the while thing was invented to keep the richest clubs permanently at the top and satisfy their greed - not for success, but for money.
However, one unintended consequence might be the number of club owners wanting to know why their club couldn't do what LCFC have done and asking their manager /head coach why he should stay ?!

And following on, although I am very happy , for many reasons, with what QSF has achieved, and personally would like him to stay, if only to see how we progress next season, which we surely will, LCFC's success just goes to show what is possible with a top quality realist as manager/head coach, which is exactly what QSF is.
And to all those screaming for an 'English' manager who 'understands' the Premier League, what chance would the averagely educated English football manager have of bonding together players from 15+ nations, given his linguistic skills ? This is not being xenophobic.

And another thing - the last ! The reason we are comfortably placed in the Premier league is because QSF (maybe deliberately chosen by The Pozzo's for this very specific reason) recognises that it's the defence -stupid - that keeps you up. Not the attack, as only a numpty like Sh**r*r would say. If you doubt it, just read the book 'The Numbers Game'. It will explain everything that QSF has done this season, and it makes perfect sense!

Now, the Pozzo's may well be looking ahead to a better placing next season, in which case they could be looking for a more 'attack-minded' head coach/playing strategy. But if whoever is in charge ignores the defence, we will be back in the doo-doo.

We have had a brilliant season - outplaying Man U (twice in spite of the results) for one thing and I for one am very happy with where we are.

Spot on - and adding to the last part regarding the defence. It has been stupid defensive mistakes in the last couple of months that has cost us many games that would have been draws, particularly at home. A couple of new defenders (especially right-backs) and get the ball moving quicker and we will be playing more like we did against Utd and Liverpool.

I personally don't care what the media say or don't say about Watford FC. I long ago gave up paying attention to what papers or TV say. I certainly have never complained that "little clubs get ignored". I would of course celebrate if Watford did what Leicester have done but then having followed them all over the country in all 4 divisions over 57 years, I would feel perfectly entitled to do so. Good luck to Leicester but to cast it in any other light than a freak season and that the dominance of the wealthier clubs is somehow weakened is on my opinion plain wrong. I would love to be proved incorrect but it is likely to be another 30 years before another " little" club wins the PL - and Leicester are not little by any means. Now if Rochdale were to rise go the top and have hordes of Taiwanese, Singaporean and Thai fans following them I might take more notice...

    Let them enjoy it.

Although, the Thai fans surprise me after LCFC´s pre season "tour" over there....

That's a bit unfair - I think that the series with Sri Lanka should be close. :)
