Usually relegation battlers look to reach 40 points to consider themselves safe. But seeing as the league title and top 4 could be decided by the lowest points totals in a while, can Chavbus fans (all 3 of them) gain comfort from knowing 30 points should be enough to keep them safe? Is that why Terry and Costa were celebrating the equaliser so hard??? Or were they being premature - do they still need a higher points total??
... I'd say that, if I didn't know better, this thread should come with an "Odour Of WUMMING" warning
I think this is a perfectly sensible thread, and one that poses a very tricky question. Personally, I think that Chelsea need to get a few more points under their belts before they can consider themselves safe. A couple of losses, and they are dragged right back into the relegation mire.
Not at all Filbert, it's the kind of question Sunderland, Norwich, Bournemouth, Swansea fans will be asking themselves. Sadly there's nobody on the chav board to pose the same question. I would say that 40 is still looking like the benchmark. 10 points for chavbus from the last 13 games is touch and go by the looks of it
Usually, if the title is decided on what is to be considered a low total, the relegation safety point is higher than normal. the points have to go somewhere.
This doesn't make mathematical sense, surely if the top teams have less points, then the bottom teams (as a whole) have more points. There is still 3 to play for each game, we don't lose any (unless there are more draws). Obviously the 3 being relegated may not get many, but there is no causal link between the top teams getting less and bottom teams getting less as well.
Hasnt Gerrez just said that above your post. And I acknowledged it. But like you say, there could be a lot of draws. Also many of those 3 points could be lost to mid-table sides hence why they're mid-table. A whole host of things could happen. Nevertheless I think it makes depressing reading for the chavs. I was hoping this thread would provide them with some comfort, but if the points total is going to be 40 or even higher, we may never see @CFC: Champions of FFP again
Indeed he has - wasn't there when I started typing (never said I was quick!), but yes Your efforts to cheer up the blues is admirable. They can hold on to the fact that the very bottom 4 wont get to 40 probably.
He could always pop back as a guest supporter of £ity or United (especially if the latter do get Mourhino in).
Sorry for late bite Treb only just seen this. If the top teams and top four get fewer points that would mean in theory relegation threatened teams would pick up the extra points dropped by top 4. Common sense is not your strong point!!
You'd think so wouldn't you fella, until you look at chavbus last few months' league results... Draw, Draw, Win, Draw, Draw, Win, Draw, Draw, Win, Loss, Loss, Draw Might I suggest in your case, you go and revise that common sense
Oh dear. This could go the same way as your other legendary WUM backfires such as http://www.not606.com/threads/what-ever-happened-to-arsenals-champions-league-challenge.312374/ Before Arsenal qualified and United were eliminated. Or http://www.not606.com/threads/what-ever-happened-to-arsenals-title-challenge.311560/ Before Arsenal smashed you 3-0 and ended your Title 'challenge'. Anyway thanks for this gift of a thread, going to enjoy bumping it every weekend !
I take it the younger folks on here would say I've just "owned you" I see from your rather ferrel reaction, you haven't taken it very well CFC and I'm genuinely upset. Please make sure you bump it when you reacch 40 points, just in case
