Not whole groups of fans, just individuals who have irked you for some reason, wherever it may have been. For example, while on holiday in Spain a few years a Liverpool fan (he was actually from Liverpool!) bored everyone rigid with his patter about how great his club was. One day he fell asleep in the sun, from then on the fat git was known as 'Beetroot'. Which fan has annoyed you and why?
I know my standard response should be Mags. But i would be lying. Scousers i can agree with your opinion there. Of the London bunch, Spuds seem the lot. But once a mate of mine got a right pasting (a mag) of a load of Huddersfield lads. Wrong choice. Mackems. Mags. Chelsea and even a few dodgy scousers joined forces. It was a fun night. Their bar closed down.
I think with the mixture of accents, they wouldnt know who to nominate. But im still nominating scousers overall.
one chelsea fan at work, from east london, old boy, but he appears to have devoted his life to trying to get at me! It's past banter now Litterally got to the point that if we lose at the weekend I dread Monday for the rest of the weekend! but the other way round, if Chelsea lose I come in all chipper. He had a bet with another mate on the Nufc V Norwich game, Thursday morning was a delight! Scousers do my head in too! "Its our Year! So many scousers are so blindsided by their love for their club, that annoys me in any fan, when you cant have a reasonable football related conversation because they are just so biased. Infuriates me
I've never had a problem with Scousers. For years I used to go to Everton away with a mate and sit in with the Everton fans. For a long time I used to wear my Newcastle top, until they changed their policy after an Everton fan was ejected from our ground for doing the same apparently. Even then I used to wear it under a jacket and the jacket came off after the game. Never had any trouble and was always treated well by their fans, and by Liverpool fans we bumped into on the night out afterwards. The two individual fans I have come across that were such twats they made me hate their club were Arsenal and Leicester fans. One was my exes ex, and the other was a twat I used to work with who hated Newcastle more than he supported his own team - still no idea what had caused that. I came round from hating Leicester last season when their fans (by and large) handled their unexpected success with class and grace. As a group of fans, then no fans come close to the utter ****ness of Villa fans.
Ive spent a large chunk of my life living and working away. Geordies everywhere. Scousers everywhere. Cockneys everywhere. But very few Brum lads. Ive no idea why.
Cockney Reds (was living in london at the time).. they seemed to crawl out from under every stone when we piddled away a 12 point lead ... Some Chelsea fans too..especially when the ill gotten gains of Abramovitch started flowing..they changed from simple pricks to rich, entitled, simple pricks
lols i forgot about Makems, I dont really find them irritating, it's kinda like having a little sister. you know your stronger, faster, smarter than they are and yeah there will be times you sister gets a better paid job, but you know they wont be able to hold it down and will be sacked. Kinda like mackems in the prem, yeah your better off at the moment, but we all know we will be back in our rightful place soon.
You are almost like family .....almost. The embarrassing, obnoxious, loud, frothing at the mouth, idiot uncle ..type of family, granted ...but kinda family none the less
I can't really think of anyone. Most of it is just light hearted banter. I genuinely have always found Sunderland fans to be the most bitter with a chip on their shoulder. They've gone the other way now with a real smugness and desperation to celebrate our relegation (understandable). I won't fully name and shame him because he is a canny lad, but a fella called Steve I used to work with in town used to have me in stitches. You have to remember this was at a time through the 96-2007 period I worked with him, when we were experiencing extreme highs (as well as a few lows). He used to just hate the mention of Newcastle, and was just unwilling to accept any Newcastle supporters view on anything to do with his club. He used to come in after weekend full of hell every week. I remember after the 15 point season finished he had a torrid time. That's as close as it got for someone being irritating. He was a canny lad but his huffy ways could get tedious.
genuinely have always found Sunderland fans to be the most bitter with a chip on their shoulder. Cheeky ****. Cheesy chip at least.. I think you lot are playing hardball tonight. Cant even be gracious in your slanderous posts. Im trying to be nice. But you lot are pushing my patience. Im gonna explode like a chipmunk in a microwave. Warned.
