Fantastic result yesterday, and we played some great football at times. However,I thought JB was really irresponsible when he clearly fouled Huth towards the end.If the ref had been competant, it was a clear penalty, and Joey would have received a second yellow. With a penalty converted, and then 10 men for the rest of the game, who knows what might have happened?
It wasn't given and he wasn't sent off. As the old saying goes 'If me auntie had bollocks she'd be me uncle'. Barton is combative and it's the nature of his game...
Barton is an idiot. Too much of a liability. He doesn't care if he gives a penalty and gets sent off and it costs us 3 points - he just wants to be in the headlines. No wonder Taarabt's form has dipped - mine would too if I was stripped of the captaincy and it was given to some clown.
I think too many fans on here always quote JB on what he does wrong and what he nearly dis that could have caused so and so, instead of concentrating on how well he played yesterday especially at winning the ball and midfield as well as good distrubution and good set pieces, you'd rather highlight that he made a clumsy challenge than things like how much protection he gave clint hill and luke young and how he worked for the team all game.
I think Barton has to of been one of our best players in the last 3-4 games along with HH. If you take away his combative side to his game, then he wouldn't be half the player. It is that exact reason why Warnock brought him!! - To add a bit of steel in midfield. Granted we were lucky not to give away 2 penalties - however - I think we were robbed of 2 penalties in the second half against Villa (I think). So they all even out over the season. His performances have been great recently and he seems to only be getting better with Faurlin in the middle - so lets lay off him for a bit while the going is so good!
He made a stupid challenge. It should have been a penalty, 3-3, and 11 men Stoke against 10 men us. So, yeah, it's quite a valid point Israel makes.
Didnt say a valid point, it was a rash challenge, but it WASN'T GIVEN, meaning that you can't judge him on that, and anyway how you can see he tried to give away the points is beyond me, even by going into that tackle it shows he's willing to put his body on the line
Sure it's a valid point for Israel to make, and NW is probably saying gently to Joey over Sunday lunch right now (Joey having displaced Adel in Mrs Warnock's affections) "watch it in future games !". But Barton was a magnificent midfield engine yesterday, and Helguson's second goal was down to his accuracy and quick thinking
It wasn't a penalty as it wasn't given and Barton wasn't booked or sent off so why do you continue with your negative shyte 77? There is no guarantee a penalty will be scored so your conjecture is hypothetical bullsh*t. The team is performing far above expectation, but you just want to put a downer on every performance, if all our supporters were like you we'd be bottom without doubt...
Thanks Northolt. BTW I watched the Chelscum game in Brazil and the Brazilian commentator kept on calling Adel "Tar Rabbit"!
There is, at times, a recklessness to JB's play. I have posted critical opinions about Barton over the couple of months that he's been at the club; however, yesterday he was immense, his passing, energy, tackling, and general effort on behalf of the team were outstanding. Perhaps on another day JB would have conceded two penalties (for surely both were), but focusing on those moments surely just depreciates from his overall contribution yesterday. He's definitely never going to be everyone's cup of tea (and I have my reservations) and a little more self-control wouldn't go amiss at times, but JB has been one of our best performers over the last few games. Finally, I would just like to say that Faurlin is absolutely awesome and getting better as the season progresses.
If we had posts like this for every time a player made a rash challenge, the site would crash ad no one would bother to read anything. I doubt you'd slag off Messi if he made a rash challenge and I think you need to take a close look at jb contribution as a whole, rather than be a muppet who just picks on a negative fir which you'll never be taken as a serious poster on here. Just another wum who has nothing constructive to say.
This is a ridiculous thread. He made a clumsy challenge right at the end of a game where he'd been superb throughout, Huth went down like a sack of **** and fortunately the box was too crowded for the ref to get a proper view. Like him or loathe him, Barton has been excellent when played in the middle. He's our captain, he's one of our best players and he's playing well for Queens Park Rangers Football Club, so can anyone who still feels the need to be negative about him **** off.
