Does anybody know who bought or where Irene is at the moment! Just a thought, but wouldn't it be great if we could track her down and purchase her for the supporters and the club. I always said that a bucket collection at a couple of home games could/would have raised enough money to get her and bring her home to where she belongs. If I remember correctly she went for about 6 grand, and most people I have spoken to down at the mem said that they would have chucked a couple of quid in a collection. Equation - home gate = 6,000 X 50% (some dont donate) = 3,000 X £2 (average donation) = £6,000.
Even if the person who purchased Irene didn't want to sell then maybe we could pursuade the original makers to knock up another "Irene" - I'm sure if there was enough money going to charity etc then most things are possible.
I'm also sure that this would give a big boost to most home fans when they are having a drink behind the Blackthorne end - it's just something I feel passionate about and really think it could be a big boost to the regular gasheads.
