The Irish Warriors are playing in the Aussie Rules International Cup Grand Final this Saturday in the MCG, in Melbourne against Papua New Guinea. Ireland won the cup before in 2002. So far they've beaten Timor Leste, Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark, and New Zealand in the semi final. There are 4 players from Cork in the team. Eoin O'Suilleabhain, Alan Coomey, Cian Quigley and Alex Whooley. Quigley also captains the side. Hopefully they'll win and bring some silverware back to the Rebel County. ...no, I was just being a dick. I suspect they couldn't be arsed horsing everyone so left it to the 'Developing nations' in the game. Ireland already triumphed in the ladies event.
My old man is going as he lives in Melbourne now & is an old Cork boy. At least he wont have split loyalties like he will when the Internation Rules is on <PlasticAussie>
If they are anything like the ladies GAA players, they can't tackle properly, so go out and maim the opposition.
