goalscorer must be McGoldrick - he is undroppable! Im actually fairly impressed with the signings Millwall have made, Martin aside, so I think it will be tight. I will go for a 2-1 to Town.
In peace, I think it is pretty important for you guys to get something here and a win would be a real boost. You bought sensibly in the Summer and had a good last 2/3rds of the season and only a cr*p start halted a play-off run. Apparently the Reading game was drab and the loss to Stevenage not important but still a loss and you don't want a half a dozen games to go by and find you are no better off than last term ohterwise the momentum will have gone again. Just an observation folks.
Completely agree canary, QPR away next. No offence gang but if we play like we did at Reading, it's going to be 3/4/5-0 loss.... VERY important we win tomorrow, however, I feel a draw is on the cards. Millwall have bought well, and will want to bounce back after a disappointing home loss to Yeovil. I have a feeling Martin will have a very good game too. I don't think we've lost back to back league games under McCarthy though, and he ALWAYS seems to get a positive reaction from the troops. Cresswell back in place of Mings, who at Reading looked like a pub defender, is a massive relief too!
got a feeling steve lomas could be in for a rough ride at the den. he got a lot of praise at st johnstone but its well know that tommy wright was the one who was doing the coaching, respected by the players while lomas was the frontman. i think they'll struggle - kenny jackett is a tough act to follow imo and being ex west ham, well, that never goes down too well...
2-0 town, Murphy and Tommy . Martin to get sent off in the 2nd half after getting a 2nd yellow Hopefully there will be a good turn out tomorrow for the first home game of the season, I reckon attendance of 20,500
I'm hoping for a quiet first half, as I'm flying home from my villa in Tuscany tomorrow morning and I'll probably only make the second half. It's been 38 degrees here, so if I make the game I'll be the one in a duffel coat, hat and gloves! It's a hard life...
" Hopefully there will be a good turn out tomorrow for the first home game of the season, I reckon attendance of 20,500 " Judging by the clubs seating map, with orange everywhere meaning tonnes of availability, and literally no blue areas, unless Millwall bring 2000 we are going to get absolutely nowhere near 20,000. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/ipswich-v-millwall/winner I always check this before games. We started off 5/6, 10/11 with the bookmakers, but are on the drift MASSIVELY and are now widely available at 5/4. That's one HELL of a shift, we are drifting with EVERY SINGLE bookmaker, whereas Millwall/ the draw is shortening up EVERYWHERE....!
I'm sensing a good win here today. First home game and a chance to kick the season off. 3-0 town. Mcgoldrick with 2 and a thumping header from tommy. Coyb give us something to cheer today
Finally seen team MM putting out today and this is probably his first choice. Good to see cressy back fit. Here we go then friends. First home game under way.
