Good result - was fairly easy to be honest 80% possession. 24 shots. Nice to see Martinelli scoring again.
Superb win against a team that clearly were never going to stay up. Kieran McKenna's done a great job at Ipswich, but they weren't ready for the Premier League and their squad quality is severely lacking for this level. We were comfortable and dominant for the entire game. Controlled the ball, limited their chances, created plenty of our own chances, had umpteen shots on goal, scored 4, had no serious injuries, good substitutions from the manager and good midfield experimentation ahead of the PSG game in 8 days. All whilst coasting through the game in 2nd gear. Couldn't have been much smoother if we tried. With Newcastle getting hammered by Villa yesterday, it also gave us a chance to create some room between both sides in order for us to secure 2nd place. They were 4 points behind us heading into this fixture. Now it's 7 points and we have an opportunity to make it 10 points clear of 3rd place if we can beat Palace on Wednesday. The protests from Leif Davis for the sending off were bewildering. His challenge on Saka was as blatant a red card as you will ever see. Raked down his achilles and was extremely late. It was a terrible attempt at tackling and he was rightly sent off. Then the Ipswich Town fans decided to boo Saka very loudly - like it's his fault Davis got sent off and not Davis' own recklessness Pity he didn't get his goal because that would have shut them up. All in all, good day's work and hopefully we can secure 2nd spot soon.
