    Ipswich fan in peace

The time for links to players has well and truly started and there have been strong rumours that Town have been linked to signing Skuse in the summer. I gather he is out of contract with you in the summer. I would appreciate your thoughts on him as I gather that he has been at Bristol City his whole career and is a local lad.

    Cheers in advance

I must confess he didn't dazzle when I saw him play at Portman Road earlier on in the season and if I had the choice I would take Adomah all day long! I'm guessing though that we would be at the back of a very long queue to land him! What happened to that young Nicky Maynard in the end? Wasn't he meant to be the next big thing a couple of seasons back?

If you want that clever midfielder who can pick out a pass, Score a fair few and get plenty of assists. Then keep looking. Skuse is over rated because he is from Bristol. He puts in a few good tackles and runs around a lot, Other than that he wont offer you much. Good squad player but if you are serious about promotion or a top 6 finish our midfielders are not the way to go <ok>

Skuse won't score many goals, and won't create many when on form he is a good tackler and workhorse, but nothing fancy.

In my opinion he needs to leave us, he likes it here being his own town etc, but would improve if he moved so he's not in his comfort zone, if you understand what I mean. He might then go onto prove that he has more ability than he believes.

Good free transfer and can also play right back.

Adomah will be off this summer, so get the cheque book out knowing us we will sell him cheap anyway.

Cheers for the info Shinty <ok> Not wishing to sound patronising but what is the general mood around Ashton Gate at the mo? Are you all resigned to going down with the prospect of coming straight back up or do you think you may just survive? This league is just so bonkers this year. Back in October we were seriously fooked with just 7 points and rock bottom but Mick has come in and shat miracles for us since then. I don't think SOD has had enough time to do the same with you guys but he will def get you back up first time.

Were relegated end of <laugh> As for coming straight back up. It will only happen if we keep the right players and bring in the right players (obviously) I think we're in for a shout at a top 6 finish next year but most teams relegated say that.

Like ROD said, won't get you goals, won't get you assists but he'd give you balance to your team, doing the simple job of taking the ball from the defender and giving it to a fullback. He can tackle very well but is prone to the odd yellow card. For a freebee he will be a very good signing.

RR I doubt very much Ipswich will be in the same position next season. I would expect once MM gets his summer targets you will see a more confident Ipswich, up the other end of the league. So if you know of 4 clubs you could vouch for, I would be interested to hear of them.
They have in the past a excellent support and a history of success.

Lets be honest, Skuse is a very good player but... he has had one of his worse seasons (hence why last season he was voted on here as our best centre midfielder) but in the last couple of years he has had some longer than expected injuries which also hasnt helped his game.

He is a very good solid holding player similar to someone like Michael Carrick (Skuse was previously linked to club like Spurs in his early career). Under every manager he has played all across the back of defence and in teh middle and wide in midfield so is used as a utitity player.

The problem is as we have witness he is now playing under a new manager who has got players playing the way he wants them to and not the way the players want to and this has taken Skuse away from his natural game. We were used to seeing skuse slide in with inch perfect tackles in previous seasons where now its a case of they have to stay on their feet and let players run past them.

Under the right club and manager he will be a very good player. If your manager can get the best out of him they will get a bargin but from my understanding one of the main clubs he is likely to be go to is Sheff United if he doesnt stay at City and they get promoted to join back up with Danny Wilson.

Watch this space is all I can say.

At the end of the day the players are the ones responsible for us getting relegated.
Those out of contract simply b*gger off for more money and leave us in a lower division.
I know it sounds bitter, but you would think they would take some responsibility for getting the club back up - perhaps I'm just naive

I think Skuse is a typical example of a talented player who has gone stale by staying at one club. I believe that everyone during their working life needs new challenges every so often to keep them fresh and still wanting more. So for his sake and ours, a move away from City is a good thing for all.
Some other City players also come to mind that are in the same situation.
We need to totally refresh the playing staff. By that I don't mean everyone should go but those who have lost their hunger for success are not wanted at City

Danny Wilson has parted with Sheff Utd tonight so maybe that is now a club he wont be going to

Why sack a manager with about 4 games left, and in the play off's that is just suicidal and course unrest in the team going into these remaining fixtures??

Spot on - Fu*k me, I'm agreeing with ROD.

The good players we have will get offers from Championship clubs - Baldock, Adomah, Elliot, Cunningham etc
Whether the Board decide to sell is another matter.

Maybe they know Danny's record in play offs, so thought better change quickly. LOL Feel sorry for Danny, I really liked him as our manager, but paid the price for a terrible team selection and tactics in the play off final against Brighton.

As for Skuse, he is average at best, he is hyped up on here as he is Brizzle through and through, but the reality is that since he made the CM berth hos own the team has been involved in relegation battles, not all his fault however he has not helped. I for one will not be too bothered if he leaves, just gutted we get no fee as he is out of contract.
