Onto Ipswich next Sat.... things look to be going in our favour recently.... just like the promotion year did! - Bullard can not play - Norris was injured after 15 min with a knee injury - Jason Scotland (scored his 1st Ipswich goal yesterday) rumoured to be going to Swansea on loan this week - They have a midweek match & we don't (more injury's/fatigue?) Hopefully we have a couple more players in & confidence & form being high, a good bet to snatch a win!
couldnt believe after winning again yesterday, the gap was still 7 points just confirmed my feelings that this season is a bridge too far.. if there is still any chance, i think this saturday is a massive game, derby look rubbish and there for the taking..if we can win at ipswich, then win at derby, surely after 6 points from 2 away games the gap will be cut, and wel be in the mix.. if we only picked up 3 or 4 points, which would normally be quite a good return, youd think the gap would still be 6 or 7 and probably too much.. thats the way i see it anyway
I have to agree the gap looks hard, i just think as fans we need to enjoy how we are playing. Any criticism of NP should start to disappear, we are picking the right team we are winning and we are building an attacking side. Maybe look at just building our team for next season, stick with the players we know who are going to be here next year. I still think if we can keep this side together we will be up there come next year!
The gap may be large but we are yet to play the teams around us for the second time - it's in our hands. Personally I think 6 points over the next 2 games are really up for grabs. After 31 games, we're only 1 point behind what we had in our promotion season. That year, we finished 3rd with 75 points. It's tighter this year so I reckon it'll take the same 75 points to get 6th place. That's quite achievable though, from 15 games I don't see any reason (if we keep our form up) that we can't get say, a W-D-L of 9-3-3. Having said that, the way we've been drawing this season., we're probably looking at 6-6-3 or something like that.
It's Leeds v Norwich and Forest v Cardiff at the weekend so hopefully we can take advantage and make up some ground on the losers of those games
7 points is nothing with 15 games left, as long as we do the business. I think its 7 out of the top 8 we got to play in the run in. If we come through Ipswich and Derby unscathed that will set us up for the run in, then watch the fireworks begin.
"Hopefully we can stay under the radar, a bit like Blackpool did last year, and hopefully sneak into the play-offs without anyone noticing. That would be the perfect thing"
I think the slow start will cost us dear and we will just miss out by 4-6 points! Heres to automatic next year! Although play offs is the only way to go up really!
