Just popped up on Sky Sports News that Ipswich have asked the Premier League to ban Swansea from making transfers. Saying that Swansea haven't payed payments due regarding Tamas Priskin while him being on loan. Opinions?
Well we've got the money - so if they can prove that we owe them money, I see no reason why we wouldn't pay them. They must be trying to screw us over, maybe they put some cheeky terms into the loan deal? It's going to be peanuts, so no need to ban us from making transfers - it's not like we can't afford to pay them, we just won a game that promised us £90million over the next 5 seasons for crying out loud!
Just looked into it more. If we signed a contract stating that we would pay his wages from a start date to an end date, and it's not specified in the terms that an injury to the player while under our supervision does not nullify the contract from the date the injury occurred, then we have to pay them. There must be a reason why we think we don't have to pay them, I await our clubs response to the allegation!
Link: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_7003849,00.html? Don't understand why we wouldn't pay them the extras because we got promoted/got in the play-offs. Yes, he was injured then and did bugger all in the play-offs, but still. A contract's a contract.
my view is pay them and pipe them down. if we have signed a contract lets honour it and not risk transfer embargo, although i believe that is scare mungering anyway.
What have I got to say about that ? . Same as I've always said Aber , Cardiff making mountains out of molehills on minor details is the biggest laugh of the League while you try to compare it to the " Cardiff Financial Implosion " that are Mountains that you guys pretend are molehills . It really is Cardiffian's scraping the bottom of the barrel to deflect their own , huge financial headaches ( cheers ) aber
Well we'll have to figure out our molehills & Cardiff can have their Mountains Aber . I half to admit though , Cardiff being " The Backroom Capital of Wales " half saved a lot of money from money used but not paid back .
Why are they doing there talking in the press? Looks like there after brownie points with there fans. look at us we hard done by crap.
If the boot was on the other foot........ If we owe it, pay it. Simple as that. If there is something in the contract that Huw objects to, that should have been dealt with before the contract was signed, not after. What is it with our club and contracts? Things obviously have gone badly amiss in the past with player's contracts, now we have this. I assume that we have competent legal eagles who cast their beady eyes over these documents before they are presented for signature. Surely it is part of their brief to study the terms and point out any potential ambiguity or problem areas.
Depends on the size of the boot ivor . This single , small event has just come to light . Cardiff have been in the glow of such things for years .
It's a bit spiteful of Ipswich to call for a ban of transfers for the Swans. Just pay the money and get on with it, why try and destroy our season as well?
The swans are not aware that money is due, if it was owed surely he would have asked about it weeks ago when they spoke http://www.swanseacity.net/page/Latest/0,,10354~2381760,00.html
Just back from taking the boy downtown Aber . I've learned tons from Ivor & will learn tons more , you on the other hand Lol !!
And aber it's rich you coming here saying things, wasn't Cardiff in this boat owing money to some Scottish club ? And didn't the western mail report that you were in fact under a transfer embargo most of last season ? And that is why nobody was brought in ? I for one happen to believe huw on this, and I don't agree paying Ipswich unless they can prove the money is owed, no matter how many millions the club has now, also how will the premier league have juristriction over a loan that happened in the football league between two clubs there? Don't think Ipswich has a leg to stand on that!
ITFC fan in peace. Do you guys know why you are refusing to pay? All I am hearing is that you contracted tonpay us £160k if you got promoted. There must be more to this, because otherwise you'd pay up. Personally I don't like airing this in the Press. If you are refusing to pay what we think is due, we should just sue your arses!!!
Don't know about that , but he went back to you injured, so how is £160k owed when he played what 4 or 5 games?
There's a pretty good chance that he would have had to play the season out with us for the " Bonus money " .
Jenkins claims he doesn't know anything about this! I think he's a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWucYbAp8Lk
