http://www.soarmagazine.co.uk/homeg...ss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=homegrown-hero ... nice article on young Liam - seems to have a wise head on those young shoulders.
This question was picked up on by someone from FoxesTalk. He questioned whether this is why we don't produce technically sound players. You can look at Michael Keane on loan at us last season, he's at a similar age to Liam. Liam would obviously dominate him physically. But Michael was far superior in terms of ball retention, positional awareness and passing. I have to agree with him. We, as a country, are not focussing enough on the more important aspect of modern football and that's technical skill. As a result not many people have it and we're suffering.
Good post AKCJ and I tend to agree as well ... the England performance this week evidenced the paucity of ball retention and passing skills in those representing our country ... Montenegro will almost certainly be better technically -Poland too - but I suspect we will do just enough to qualify by virtue of home advantage etc... I'm hoping so - but I don't hold out much hope for us in Brazil unless some newtalent comes through to supplement the few good players we have and also that the manager is brave enough to take them and play them.
