Noticed on CI the entrance music is being discussed, and I noticed this (although it seems to be a bit out of date) list of all the English clubs entrance themes... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:U+003F/List_of_football_entrance_music surprised to see the likes of Propane Nightmares on there... (Rotherham and partially Derby) MK Dons have Welcome to the Jungle, how about Welcome to the King's Town - get an Axl impersonator to record it I think a good contender should be something a bit different and a lot more lively than we have now, nobody even joined in 'can't help falling in love' before the Coventry game. Personally, although it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, I actually think this fits the bill.... It's Metallica's live entrance - The Ecstasy of Gold from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, then fades into Enter Sandman which also has a great build up - the team appear from the tunnel at the point the fireworks go off in the video (no I'm not suggesting we have fireworks before any says so!). It'd at least give the team something to get pumped up to, rather than something that sends them (and us) to sleep! Plus, it'd be unique as nobody else uses it. Here it is together: thoughts?
A bit of classical/opera merging into energetic rock - not everyone's cup of tea, but it's a decent entrance, IMO. You're never going to find a song that is to everyone's taste, so the next best thing is to find something that has all the right ingredients to suit as an entrance.
The tune from the film The Good, The Bad and The Ugly....followed by Enter Sandman does not get any better. Both complement each other very well....IT GETS MY VOTE.
Ours isn't really Ready to Go by Republica, though is it. We've just nicked the "Ready to go" bit from that song, but there's sod all else from it. What is the rest of it from?
Our entrance music, the "tigers tigers" bit that goes on for about 5 minutes is completely shocking. We had a seriously mentally disabled kid on my music course capable of creating better mix downs in his first year. It's just a load of samples crushes together in such awful fashion I'd wager on a 5 year old making a better job of it. It's in serious need of remastering, volume levels are all dodgy, it's all out of synch and the samples are well off tempo, specially that carmina burana (is that what is called?) sample. It really gets on my tits every game, as I'm a music producer myself, how someone could have got paid to do that and it's stuck when I know I could do a million times better job even if I needed a hearing aid, but I'll never get the chance. Guess its just like when those who want to get into journalism see the **** the fail publishes.
might be naff, cheesy, and predictable but this gets my vote and always will..
If they want to do the old welcome routine & go around the stands (i'd rather we get rid of it, but if it has to stay) they should do it before the Tyger Tyger poem/Carmina Burana (sp) intro. He should read out the line up during the time it takes them to do the enforced handshakes and then fook off the pitch. The Tyger Tyger poem by Blake is something original but it does drag on a bit too long. Also, I'm sure they used to play "This Is the One" by the Stone Roses when the players came out at first. Mind you, they also played "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" by Oasis in the build up, which in itself could explain the lack of atmosphere at the KC. But i've seen far worse than ours- Sheff Utd coming out to the Star Wars theme and the Mull of Kintyre crap at Forest. Personally, i'd do away with the hello west stand cobblers, the wise men bollocks, the tedious dance music, after the players have come out, and the handshakes as well.
i love it each time this topic comes around. how many times is this? dont stop believing everytime!!!!!! (have i said that before?) ok three day millionaire
The club did decide to change it this season, but then couldn't decide what to change it to, so it remained unchanged.
