Rome deserves it. We hope Francesco Totti can score the first goal there!â CEO Italo Zanzi added more details on the arena. âWe anticipate the capacity to be around 55,000-60,000 â enough to host the Champions League final while maintaining an intimate feel and offering the fans a special experience. We also want to stress that it will be privately financed and based on current legislation.â Roma also announced a seven-year deal with Disney to sell its merchandise in their stores and help young players to train in its scouting camps. âOn behalf of the city of Rome, I thank those who allowed the realisation of a dream that Roma fans have had for a long time,â added captain Totti. âOur supporters deserve their own stadium, entirely red and yellow.â --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The reason this is interesting is because Roma are owned by Thomas Richard DiBenedetto who is a senior partner within Fenway Sports Group - The question is, is Fenway helping to fund this stadium and if so... what da ****??
I doubt FSG are involved at all. Doubt they could afford it. It is probably being sponsored by a company. Maybe Disney. Mikey Mouse Stadium.
All partners of the FSG group have their own business dealings. It's a group, not a single entity or corporation.
