When we beat West Germany 1 - 0 at the arms park when Rushy scored. I remember the roof nearly coming off the place when the ball hit the back of the net. As people were leaving the stadium all you could hear was singing - such an amazing atmosphere.

I was at that one - couldn't speak for three days as we has sung/shouted ourselves hoarse! Wales 2 Italy 1 is another that obviously stands out.

    Same for me.

I think it was simply Germany. Their first defeat since re-unification.

Wales losing to Yugoslavia in the quarter finals of the Euros in mid 70s at Ninian Park.

Place was going nuts. Referee was mobbed at the end of the game,

That one & the one against Scotland when Jock Stein died. The train back to Barry was half full of Scots and I remember how quiet it went when word got around.

    Canada 6 Wales 6
Played in Dildo Newfoundland on July 1st 1968. The Newfies thought we were playing Whales and showed up in droves - droves pulled by Mooses. They braved the 6 inches of snow that was on the left side of the street and only crossed the road as they got close to the stadium. There was great dismay when it was noticed that one set of goals had been set upon by lumberjacks (no relation) and the other set by beavers - and no-one would admit who's beaver!. Luckily four moutnies took off their hats to use as goalposts and then headed off to the local gay bar 'Strapadictome's' because they always get their man. We all thought that Wales would win easily but the bloody Newfs had been feeding them screech the night before and there were only 5 of them who could stand. We still should have won but the Canadian goalie Everard N Reddy kept insisting that every shot ' went over the post' and that they should play 'no offside' What a game!
We still talk about in Flin Flon

Wales beating Germany 1-0 at the Arms Park on 5th June 1991. European qualifier. The match wasn't fantastic and Rush scored the goal. But for me the highlight of the game was Lothar Mattheus (who had led them to World Cup victory just a year before) bringing down a long ball with his right foot by jumping six feet in the air. There was an audible gasp from the crowd. What a player and what a team.

    Those were the days.

Couldn't find that clip but here's the goal.

Rush was a great goalscorer, and that one was truly Michu-esque!!!

    Mattheus was a class act.
