Heard the interview on RH and then saw a bit of it on Look North. Can't remember exactly how much he said he had put in the club but he said after stumping up that kind of cash he was expecting us to get promoted. I certainly hope we do get promoted and I think Steve Bruce and the team will be under an awful lot of pressure from Mr Allam between now and the end of the season.
Not how i saw it. Yes he wants promotion but i dont think he will add undue pressure. Not this season anyway. imo
Should we endure the lottery which is the play-offs and miss out, I sure hope AA doesnt do anything stupid in terms of SBs employment with us!
Did you listen to it on Radio Humberside Sports talk? He definitely said he thought the amount of money he had put into the club deserved promotion. I got the impression he meant he wanted it this year. No he didn't mention any pressure but it made me feel under pressure for the club so must have the same effect on the manager and players. I am not saying this is a bad thing, just mentioning how it sounded to my ears.
I'm sure SB is quite aware of the "pressure", even if not stated it is implied.. part of SB and his staff's role is to eleviate/deflect the pressure from the squad. SB will also know that if he doesn't win promotion then his job is on the line.. No, I don't agree but that's football these days.. owners want a ROI if they've "given a gift to the people of Hull" or otherwise. I think come the end of this season we'll either be celebrating or crying in our beers cos SB has been sacked.. ying or yang..
It's dangerous when someone at a club says 'we deserve promotion- look how much we've spent.' The type of thing we used to hate and ridicule. You get promoted on points not on pounds.
he will have only said that if SB allowed him to .. god sake you guys think Allam runs the club .. its SB all the way .. or at least that's his contract
