Really interesting interview with John Henry in telegraph today: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-the-club-before-his-overhaul-at-Anfield.html The more I hear from this guy the more I like him
just read it..... and he is right about disipline........... i noticed that for the first time carragher didn't leak the team to his mates to bet on..... co-incidence... carra has a long stading record of leaking early round teams! disipline cuts many ways, its entirely fair to say about parry and moores we all saw the team then that could have won much more (90s) we all saw the rubbish rafa signed in the end when he was let loose.... it was interesting to note that despite having the "right guys" they still question everything. comolli will therefore have had to explain why each purchase was a good one. i would hope that if the guy in the street can see certain buys are mad (eg. degen day 1) then they won't happen any more.
Thanks for the thread, i really enjoyed reading that To be completely honest i think we have the best owners in English football. They seem very switched on to what we need to succeed, and with a track record like theirs i think we're onto a winner. I would rather this type of ownership than someone like City have who just have senseless amounts of cash and no real plan, other than spend spend spend! I was dubious at first due to our previous American owners - However, these guys are the real deal and i am made up that we finally have a great ownership model. Overall, they have a massive amount of my respect and i look forward to their future plans
*bites sarcastic tongue* Let loose? LET LOOSE? Sigh. Do you mean Hicks and Gillett walked into Rafa's office, threw a suitcase with £200m down on his desk and he spent it all on Voronin, Degen and El Zhar? The Mirror puts the quote in context: Henry criticised the previous Anfield regime under Tom Hicks and George Gillett, saying the pair left Liverpool in a hole it will take time to dig out of. "For a number of years players of quality were being sold and players of lesser quality were being purchased," he said. "The club wasn't being run by people with the kind of discipline it takes to be successful over the long term." Poor Tom and George, having to take the rap for Rafa spending so much of their billions.
These guys are a MILLION times more professional than anythin we have had runnin the club before If, and it looks like we are, gonna get a new stadium, it needs to be 75,000
I'm still cautious but they seem to be doing a good job and have made the effort to understand what the club is about.
Some encouraging comments about the groundshare, its off the agenda "our position hasnt changed" hopefully it will now be put to bed once and for all, take notice anderscum and his bitterblue cronies. kenshite and gollum
