Well he didn't just come from Russia, he'd been over here for at least a bit and had looked at games and maybe players. But he won't have had links in this country to pull strings to get players. The main thing though for me beyond what players are brought in is what you do with them, and there seem to be some question marks over training. The lack of a backroom staff probably hindered things a lot, it would have been a different setup to what he had in Russia.

Good interview, and nice to see they managed to get a player on the podcast.

Listening to RH talksport it was mentioned that Leo only did 2 defensive sessions allegedly during his time. If that is true no wonder we were all at sea at the back.

I really hope that isn't true although looking at our defending under him maybe it actually is

I was a little surprised I managed it, but even more surprised they're getting on theirs this week! Great timing with the goal though (I'd had this set up since early last week).

Wow that's crazy. Never understand how managers manage that. Like moyes at united (I think) doing no set piece routines.

And Steve Bruce here didn't work on attacking routines.

Like the way you managed Steve Bruce and attacking in the same sentence. A previous impossibility. OK, a bit harsh, and yes, oh for a few hanging on 1-0's.

Kind of weird that we've bounced so sharply from being quite defensive and not scoring enough to being too offensive and conceding too many. Is this going to be the first window that I can remember where we haven't been desperate for a striker?

Personally I think we're desperate for two strikers. But yeah, and I found it odd how the very same players Steve Bruce drilled into such a good back 4 just could not work together at all once Micky P took control.
