    Great interview and I remember the one he did earlier in the season. His tongue certainly wags in his native French, but he gives a good tactical insight. A couple of interesting answers;

    Pochettino tried to use Lambert and Osvaldo at the same time but they never seemed to get along well.

    We want to play with a high pressure, and these two are not famous for their stamina… They do not like to run after the ball, that’s not the way they play, that’s all. They were two not doing the efforts to get the ball back, and it did not fit with our system. Osvaldo was not as good as we expected him to be. We had been told great things about him and we could see that he was good on the training ground. The problem was in his head. The change was hard to handle for him. Going from Rome to Southampton is not an easy thing to do.
    In my opinion, he puts too much pressure on himself because of the amount of the transfer. He wanted to show everybody that he was the best; he tried too much thing on his own, whereas he only had to play it simple. That is the worst idea ever. Little by little, he started to question himself. You can ask him, even he would tell you that he did not manage to adapt. Every training session in Southampton, from the Monday till Wednesday at night, you have to give everything you have. I don’t know how training was in Italy, in Rome, but it surely was less intense. Here, it’s not how it is. Apart from that, he has amazing finishing skills.

    As for you, you came together again with Jack Cork, who is one of the most underrated players in the league in my opinion, given his workrate.

    I completely agree with you, I really like Cork! I don’t know whether he is the most underrated or not, but I’m used to playing alongside him and I love it! He’s good with the ball, has a great positioning. He’s way more mobile than Wanyama, he likes to run. Personally, I don’t really like to be… (he pauses) I like to move, I like to ask the ball low on the field, around the defence. Cork allows me to play like that because Wanyama does not have the pace to run higher. He’s more like an anchor man in front of the defence. When I play with Cork, I can get the ball just in front of the defenders, dictate the play and make long runs. With Wanyama, I have to adapt. That’s why my first games in the season were not that good. I was receiving the ball at places where I was not used to get it.

    With your back to the goal, for example?

    Yeah. I don’t like that. I like to dictate the play from the back and run forward. This is what I like.

    Sometimes the translations are better: I like the idea that Wanyama is not safe shopping. Can just imagine him barging round Waitrose :)

    I see he thinks Gallagher is a more all round player than a young Lambert. Loved it when he added: Not that I knew a young Lambert...I was scarcely born. He may need his burst of speed if Rickie reads that.

    Just a thought. If and it is an IF, Rickie playes less next season and Gallagher or another more, mobile than Rickie, striker signs, we will be awesome at winning the ball back. This could allow us to press even more and even higher up the pitch. I'm not bemoaning Rickie, we just know he isn't a mobile runner.

    Haven't you heard? Everything goes in the transfer thread these days!

    Well, I posted it in response to someone saying they thought Schneiderlin wanted a move, I guess it should get wider attention though as it covers more than just that topic.
