40 years ago the British government decided that it would be a good idea to rip up the books on natural justice and decency and lock people up in a concentration camp without as much as a charge sheet or legal representation. Anyone who was percieved as Irish, in Ireland, was liable for 'arrest'. When history is written on Ireland this will be seen as the trigger for thousands of deaths. People stood up and fought against this. The people who done so were labelled terrorists, criminals and worse. My father was locked up for 3 years and he never handled a gun or explosives in his life. His only crime was that he was Irish. As much as Britain and their armed forces attempt to paint a picture of their time in Ireland as something other than oppression we Irish will be here to counter it. Just like Hash and his tributes for our heroic Hunger Strikers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Demetrius Erin Go Bragh.
