Thought i'd start a thread about the international action today on this rather uninteresting afternoon at work. Canaries to look out for tonight are Simeon Jackson (Honduras vs Canada) and Steve Morrison (Croatia vs Wales). Robert Snodgrass and Rus Martin are injured for Scotland, and Ryan Bennett is likely to start on the bench for the U21s for Serbia. Alex Tettey should be on the bench for Norway in Cyprus as well. And nearly forgot Ruddy benchwarming for the 3 lions in Warsaw. It would be good see morrison and or Jackson get in the goals for their teams. One mouth-watering tie to mention, Spain vs France in Madrid. Spain will start strong favourites in that one for sure. any other thoughts welcome - come on the 3 lions
I think Poland will be very tough opposition for us tonight. When was the last time Jackson or Morison scored for their international teams, just out of interest? It certainly wouldn't would boost their confidence if they did though, I'm sure. Personally, I just always hope our key players don't get injured. Sadly, that's my view on international football these days, I just don't feel passionate about it anymore. I remember the huge excitement I had as a kid for Euro 96 and France 98 but just haven't felt that since.
morrison - 1 Goal for wales in 19 appearances - vs montenegro in sept 11 jackson - 6 goals in 32 appearances. last goal in oct 11 vs St Lucia morrison had a very good chance to score versus scotland, drifting a header just wide from a Bale cross. should have a least got it on target.
sordell hits the post for England U21s! good start from our boys. as expected bennett is benched. shame harry kane is injured as he could have featured.
Is Rudd injured? The BBC preview article says that he's missing from the squad, but no replacement has been called up. The rest of the article also talks about a significant number of injuries in the england squad.
What a farcical event in Warsaw! Lovely stadium but no ground staff with forks And they can't shut the roof
