****ing hate them, watched the Ireland match last night and just didn't care that much. Is a bit different if we make it to the competition proper but the qualifiers are just bollocks. I am definitely a club over country man - I didn't realise how much so until I watched Celtic vs Ireland a year or two back and couldn't help but support Celtic, what about you boys?

Despite being an England fan for many years, I'm starting to feel the boredom. I've felt this way particularly when England struggle to beat the likes of Algeria. We can do many more things with International breaks, I would hold a short-term tournament. That's just my opinion and we're all entitled to one. If you feel that I'm wrong, please feel free to use constructive criticism.

    The Jackie Mc Testamonial?

I think a lot of it is down to the football we are playing.
I must confess to being in the camp just waiting for Trap to fail. i hate it. Its not football. There is no joy to it at all. Mechanical nonsense.

Hizmo, If Man Utd were ****e do you think you'd feel differently?

No, I'd feel the same. Manchester United are one of the best teams in Europe. It's a shame you've chosen to bring Manchester United into this. Are you having difficulties reading the title of the thread?

I was asking precisely because of how successful and good Man Utd are in comparison to the England team

    International football is ****e.

The world cup showed us that.

Give me the SPL any day of the week. ;)

I always get fully behind either Rangers or Scotland when they're playing a competitive game. It's a bit more difficult to work up any enthusiasm when it's a meaningless friendly like today.

The good thing about having to support Scotland is that it gives you an idea what it's like to support a non-OF team: your team is mince and it's never going to win anything. Thankfully, you only have to put up with it for a game or two, then it's back to steamrollering the opposition in the SPL.

In the England vs. Ghana friendly, I'll want Ghana to do well - three of the Sunderland lads will probably be playing!

    dont care for international football.....

however what they need to do instead of a 2 week international break when we play 1 competitive game and 1 needless game,

make it a 4 week break, and make the games competitve games, england/teams could play 3-4 games during the break involving the qualifing games for the euros/world cups completely scrap friendly games.

Don't let national sides play any 'regular' starter in friendlies and have at least three players with less than ten caps. Would be good for England anyway.
