Koeman has pushed the barriers here. This is a league club manager finally saying that a player has been allowed to report for International duty, as part of a squad, under the proviso that it is noted the the player is carrying an existing injury. Koeman has blamed the Irish management team for not protecting his player: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39457298

Club football or International football. Which is actually more important.?
Careful there TSS....broken the unwritten law. Koeman is always wrong...even if he is right. :)

Oops, did I.? Didn't mean to. Just reporting. What I meant to convey, if anything, was that whilst other club managers have made vague reference to their players coming back injured from International duty, here is Koeman making his feelings known pretty much unequivocally. It has always been a grey area in football but Koeman has stuck his oar in. I sort of like Martin O'Neill's response. Time was when if a player returned to his club injured then that was that. But the Premier League is so popular and 'important' that the balance has swung away from International football.

We are not the only supporters who yawn and moan every time there is an International break, even though we are happy-ish for the Saints players involved. Apparently, the majority of other PL club supporters do it and the media recognises that. Is that evidence on Koeman's side though.?
