Morrell receives international recognition Tuesday, October 3rd 2017 Joe Morrell has become the seventh City player to be called up during the international break. The midfielder, currently on loan at Cheltenham Town, was initially on standby for Wales Under-21s’ UEFA qualifier in Liechtenstein. But following the weekend, where Morrell was involved in an impressive victory for Cheltenham at Chesterfield, the youngster has been promoted into the squad. He jets out immediately to Eschen with the squad for the match, which takes place on Thursday, October 5th (4.30pm). Morrell joins Bailey Wright (Australia), Hordur Magnusson (Iceland), Callum O’Dowda (Republic of Ireland), Gustav Engvall (Sweden Under-21s), Lloyd Kelly (England Under-20s) and Jonathan Leko (England Under-19s) in being called up. Heard a lot of good things about him , but not sure I've seen him play . We do seem to have a few decent young players coming through , let's hope a few manage to break through into the first team.
