'Cardiff City's' Kerim Frei has been selected for the Turkish team playing Denmark on Wednesday - http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=3761 And Kaca is looking forward to playing against old team mate Steven Gerrard when England meet Sweden - http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/i-was-right-to-quit-liverpool-for-fulham-says-alexander-kacaniklic-8312731.html
I'm worried about Bryan. Costa Rica are away to Bolivia, according to one site on Wednesday and on another Thursday - I'm guessing it's Thursday 'our time'. Either way can't see him being back before Saturday which doesn't auger well for the Sunderland game. And that's just the jet lag, obviously praying he doesn't get another knock.
Does anyone know of the whare abouts of AJs doppleganger. not that i am to anxious, its just that I dont want to see him cropping up in the 1st team squad.
I take it you mean Richardson, rosc. Don't know, but given he only lasted 15 minutes or so on Saturday (and he wasn't exactly going full tilt), I can't see him recovering (again) in time for Sunday.
Read today, true or not, that Mj may offer Gygera a new contract. Surely we no not need a 32yr old injury prone on the books.
Is he injury prone, or has he just had one particular injury that he's taken a long time to get over? If it's the latter, and there are no performance-inhibiting after effects of it, he's a good signing. If it's the former then you're right, we possibly don't need him. If he does get fit, Grygera's probably the best shout for keeping your new favourite Senderos out of the first team if Jol decides to freshen things up in the centre of defence. Presumably any contract would only be for a season (or what's left of it), so it doesn't run the risk of leaving us stuck with a crock for several years. If what you read is true, I think it's good news.
If he's offering him a new contract then Gryggers must be making good progress. We're not exactly flush for CBs (if that's what MJ sees him as) so it's a decent signing. If true, of course.
The usual array of first teamers are playing in International matches tonight, although slightly fewer than normal. It's the youngsters, and the number of them playing at the different levels, which catches the eye. Here is the full run down from the Club - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/november/14/international-whites EDIT: just realised that there is no mention of Bryan in the Club post. Now not sure if he has in fact been called up for the Costa Rican game, which would be very good news indeed.
This should be in the "Where Are They Now" thread, David Healy got Northern Ireland's equaliser in their embarassing 1-1 draw at home to Azerbaijan. Chrissy Baird missed two 'goal line sitters' with his head. http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries/news/newsid=1900961/index.html?cid=rssfeed&att=
If you haven't seen it, Ibrahimovic's goal against England around the 85th minute is possibly the goal of the century (so far). I was watching game and just laughed out loud when I saw it. It's both magical and hysterical, all at the same time. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQhuE3b_GBU
Quite something wasn't it. Although not only did he get the assist from Joe Hart, he obviously got the technique from him as well - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vKcSakdbzk
Cottager - that's quite a goal from Hart. But still, how could Hart exhibit such skill during training, and such appalling heading technique when it counted?
Goodness knows DR, but dare I say he 'shirked' it a tad, and had his eye on Ibrahimovic not the ball ? Here's a round up from the Club on how all our lads got on - http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2012/november/15/international-roundup
It's not the best goal for me, not even close. For one, there was no goalkeeper in the goal and he really did have a lot of time to execute the shot, under little pressure. That's not to say that it isn't a great goal, which it is, but in my opinion, it's not the greatest. Trevor Sinclair's overhead kick for QPR in my opinion was better. The best goal for me? Roberto Carlos's free kick, it defied gravity for God's sake! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVcIR6ftJuk
I can imagine it looking like the best goal of all time if you were in the stadium, but I was a little disappointed when I finally saw it. Rooney's overhead kick against City a couple of seasons ago was better, IMO.
