... Are rubbish when you're second in the league, have won 6 out of your last 7 games and it's still only Saturday night with a whole week until the next match! It isn't that long ago that an international break was the longest unbeaten run of the season for Saints. Bring on the forest match please!
after the seaborne incident an international break was ideal for Saints - if we had a game today they may not have been fully focused on the match and rightly so.
they really are annoying - saturdays arent the same in this respect, league 1 is preferred as no itn'l breaks
To be fair, if it hadn't been an international break, he probably wouldn't have been out on the razz.
International breaks are as welcome as piles.Have to admit it was great to see Rooneys new barnet ,and they say money cant buy you happiness.Personally i cant see why he couldnt grow it long on the sides and smarm afew strands over the top like the truly great Bobby Charlton or just have none at all like me and Chappers.Seriously if i happened to be sat and England came on the tvi may watch a bit purely cause its football but the days of making a date to watch our glory boys are gone i am afraid i have seen to many golden generations of national teams come and go to care. Sadly i am left with the vision of Ozil leaving fat arsed Barry for dead and realised what we all know overpaid underachievers no for me its the nitty gritty domestic stuff
International breaks are good. I know it makes Saturdays boring but it gives our players a bit of extra recovery time. Several of our players have played every game so a week off will do them good. We will be back fitter and stronger. COYS
It is a bit boring but I think it suits us. The players looked like they needed a rest and they will come back fresh, ready to take Forest to the cleaners. Also, for the first time in a few years, I actually enjoyed the England game...
Of course, there's always the chance that if the international break hadn't happened, and Saints had had a game on Saturday, then Seaborne would probably have been in a more focused pre-match mode and not been at the night club in the first place.
Well the players wouldn't have been given 5 days off, so that is true. But as it was, he was perfectly entitled to be out on the razz as any healthy 24 year old might.
What the hecks on for the 8th October......not another international break surely? Having these breaks is ok I suppose but the players actually involved don't get a break do they?
Mainly the recently relegated Prem clubs who have the most international players. West Ham have a few, Newcastle had a few a couple of seasons ago etc. They appear to have taken the line to cancel all games, not just the ones of the teams with players away. We had that daft situation last season with the one plymouth player who sort of played for his african country of birth, but then didn't, but our game was postponed anyway. I'm with others, international football really bores me now. We all know who are the top 12 teams in Europe, they should just play in a european championship without the need for qualification. The smaller countries can have a small mini-tournament, with the winner (or top 2) getting into the main final. There is absolutely no point to having the Andorra's, San Marino's and Wales taking part in proper international competition. They never improve, they are backward nations and should just accept it.
