Mali through to the last 16 , Bissouma not coming home yet
Even Klinsmann couldn't manage to get South Korea eliminated in the group stage

...and while I'm on that subject, Kyrgyzstan/Oman ended 1-1, meaning Jordan, Palestine, Syria and Indonesia go through as the best third-placed teams while China wound up as the worst third-placed team due to scoring two less goals than Oman had in the tournament yet still having two points

So the Ro16 is as follows
Tajikistan/UAE
Iraq/Jordan
Australia/Indonesia
Saudi Arabia/South Korea
Iran/Syria
Bahrain/Japan
Qatar/Palestine
Uzbekistan/Thailand

Iraq conceded early to Jordan in the Asian Cup, then came back and took the lead.
The goalscorer that put them 2-1 up was sent off for over-celebration and they lost 3-2! <laugh>
Jordan scored in the 95th and 97th minute. The ref was from Iran...

You'd think that organisers might be aware of what could happen if the ref is from a country which has historic needle with one of the countries playing

Then again that would sort of limit the referees for World Cup matches involving Germany, Russia, Japan, England, France, Spain and the USA...

One thing I've seen mentioned: for the last 15ish minutes of regular time, and the whole of extra time, Sonny was playing as a No10 for Korea behind Lee Kang-in and Hwang Hee-chan

Potential tactical wrinkle for us going forward there
