Not sure why Solanke started, though.

Having blown £15m with Liverpool on Jordan Ibe, who was **** on Mersyside and has produced the square root of **** all since, Bournemouth then burn a rumoured £19m on a player who also achieved **** all at Liverpool and looks set to underachieve on that poor level at Bournemouth.

Is Bournemouth's Russian owner onto some sort of tax dodge or money laundering scheme?

Maybe the Russian/Eddie Howe has some juice in the international set up and was hoping Solanke might pull a performance out of somewhere, so they could move him on?

It's either that or was done by Boothroyd as a bet?

With clubs lashing out millions on rubbish, how many clubs and leagues will be around in 10 years time?

African Cup of Nations kicks off tomorrow with the hosts Egypt facing Zimbabwe.
Nothing really jumping out at me from the first round of fixtures, but perhaps there'll be some surprises?

England XI: Henderson, Kenny, Clarke-Salter, Tomori, Dasilva, Barnes, Dowell, Maddison, Mount, Calvert-Lewin, Gray

Subs: Wan-Bissaka, Solanke, Foden, Sessegnon, Gunn, Kelly, Konsa, Gibbs-White, Nelson, Woodman, Abraham

Think these lads are having a competition to see how many penalties they can give away.

3 in 2 games... Mental.

Funny how a tournament is being played in 40+ degree heat in the middle of summer yet English fans aren't saying a damn thing about it

Apparently it's only an issue in countries picked over and English bid to host a tournament...

Or because most people in England don't even realise it's happening and England aren't in it. One or the other.

Surely thats not entirely his decision, although giving him a new contract before the tournament was something of a misjudgement by the FA - quelle surprise

Questionable selections in both games and knocked out at the earliest opportunity with one of the most talented young England squads we’ve had in a while...

Shouldn’t even be allowed to take charge of the final group game.

He wasn't good enough for Coventry and left Northampton at the bottom of the football league. He's not up to the job.
It should be easy to attract a decent manager to it now, too. Just point out Southgate's progression and the possibilities it opens up.
