I may have to see that. It's got "bad enough to be funny" written all over it, and may even range into "awful enough to be hilarious" 300 territory. "The 300" has to be the best comedy I've seen in the last 10 years.

 

There's a good chance it's basically "Mean Girls on an Island" - and frankly that makes me wish Channel 4 revived Shipwrecked, as that's basically the same thing.

 

Good to know that FIFA have so little else to worry about that they can expend time and energy 'investigating' Dele's alleged finger gesture!

Just as well I'm too old to be playing the game now or I'd be permanently suspended!

Sissoko's worked his way back into the French squad, I see. Hope that's a confidence boost for him.

Mediocre works well, I've found.
Where's the creativity in that squad? The balance is awful.

 

Why anyone would pick four defensive midfielders for their squad is beyond me.

 

He's picked four goalkeepers and six centre-halves for games against Slovenia and Lithuania.
Is he planning on playing a back five and giving each keeper a half or something?
No balance, not enough creativity and a lack of variation. Still probably enough to get six points, though.

 

The manager's tactical nous and dynamic man management will forge that lot into a collective...........oh, what's the word?.........Oh yeah, clusterfuck.

Is there any chance we could declare and not make it to the tournament?

 

Let's be honest. I've counted 14 players in that squad who wouldn't get so much as a sniff of action if they had been born in France, Italy, Spain or Germany. And that was being very generous. The lack of quality is lamentable.

 

There's not a lot that Southgate can do about the quality of those available, but the same can be said for the other home nations.
Why not drop a keeper and two centre-backs and pick a few players that don't normally make the squad? Something different.
Albrigton, Redmond, Tom Carrolll... try something else. I'm sure that there are others that I'm missing.

 

I give it until March before there's a public demand that Winksy be given a chance.

He's clearly good enough, but he's been out injured for ages. I'd have mentioned Antonio too, but he's had the same issue.
