The upcoming one by my count is the third this season and probably not the last. It's really annoying. Do we need to stop the domestic leagues for internationals? Isn't the reason we have big squads (well, not us) so that we can rotate players and keep them happy, introduce youngsters to first team football and help prevent fatigue? Why can't we just do that? So what if Harry Kane is off playing for England, I don't think it would put Spurs fans off. It's not like there'd be a clash of TV times either, when do internationals ever kick off at 3pm on a Saturday? Even if the Premier League didn't do it, there's no need for the Championship to do it, I can't imagine there's very many call ups across the league. Not ones that can't be filled in for for one or two games.
I really hate the international breaks , the season gets going , then you have a break , then it gets going again , then another break etc.
I always imagined it was the clubs not wanting to play if some of their best were called away. They seem to have the influence these days.
Hate international breaks. Just run through the season normally - finish in April then have a period in May/June to do all the qualifiers/friendlies.
You' d appreciate it more when it came. I think an 8 month season would be a good idea. Beginning of Sept till end of April with Cup final 1st week in May. Get rid of league cup.
