Stolen this from elsewhere but its interesting, "Lets hope we win and play badly the next two games and get a manager in with a better record than this Hes won 10 games out of 58 - so with my bad maths thats a 17% win rate Bates wants the cheap option - Players want the comfy option Cant believe we are wasting 4 games on this Halifax Town (caretaker) England 30 August 2001 12 October 2001 P8 W2 D3 L3 Win Rate 25% Halifax Town (caretaker) England 4 March 2002 25 April 2002 P11 W3 D1 L7 Win Rate 27.3% Scarborough England 24 October 2005 6 July 2006 P29 W5 D7 L17 Win Rate 17.2% Northwich Victoria England 19 June 2007 17 September 2007 P9 W0 D1 L8 York City (caretaker) England 21 November 2008 24 November 2008 P1 W0 D1 L0 "
I gave him my support at the start but i've now realised he is ****e. Even if we do win the next 2 games, does it really prove his quality as a manager? We're playing 2 poor teams that we would/should win even if we had Peggy Mitchell managing us. I'd still like us to win tonight but it wouldn't be terrible if we lost, at least then we could sleep easily knowing that Redearn won't be our permanent manager.
I still think he will be given to the end of the season I know its only two games in but he didn’t seem to bright with his subs. Cant complain about the Bristol game when he didn’t make one sub as we won an easy game against 9 men, but his late sub against Brighton when he got Townsend to warm up about three times before sending him on indicates to me that he wasn’t comfortable making the call or was being indecisive about going for the win. Townsend then came on after Brighton scored.
Bucks, Id have taken Pugh off, stuck aidy at full back and townsend in front, He obviously told Snoddy to stay up with the strikers which cause a lot of space down that side for noone and poor adam smith got battered all game. I honestly think I could get us in the play offs
Lewis, Peggy Mitchell managing us? At least we'd have a manager with some passion. You can imagine the scenario - Papa Smurf walks into the dressing room & off goes Peggy - GEEEDDDDDDDDDDDD AAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT OF MY DRESSIN' ROOM. Almost a cue for a song. - GEEEDDDDDDDDDDDD AAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT OF MY DRESSIN' ROOM, GEEEDDDDDDDDDDDD AAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT OF MY DRESSIN' ROOM. You Chelsea bast&rd, GEEEDDDDDDDDDDDD AAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT OF MY DRESSIN' ROOM
I hadn't realised that his managerial experience was so dated, so I'd have to say that his poor win rate can't possibly count, as things have seriously changed since then. Don't get me wrong - I'm not advocating that we should take him on. My view is that he has ZERO relevant experience as a manager, and we should NEVER entertain anyone with zero experience as our manager. FFS, I've got as much relevant experience as he has. It's like telling someone who sells ***s at Morrisons that he's running the store from tomorrow onwards. Why should football be any different??? We need someone who knows what they're doing. Sadly, you have to pay money for such specialists in the field, and we have a habit of doing everything on the cheap. Warnock, Mccarthy? Forget them - we won't pay them the money they deserve. The only thing we can predict about the new appointment is that he'll be cheap. I have absolutely no sense of excitement about this appointment. I'm a broken man, I think.
I read these stats a couple of days back, once again it just pisses you off more when Bates gives his reason for sacking Grayson as being that we are 3 points off a play off and let us get someone in who might be able to get more out of the players we have... We are now 4 points off, I dread to think where we shall be if we lose tonight, even Leicester might over take us. Redfearn is not the man for the job and by the time Bates does something about it the play offs will probably be out of sight and out of reach.
Redfearn just doesn't seem capable. I like manager that are decisive and have their own ideas. Redfearn, as you say, seems hesitant with subs. He should have risked it and gone for the win. We're at home and should have been pushing for the winner. Also the thing about Snodgrass playing so far forward seems to have been a poor tactic.
I've pointed out how **** his record is several times, and there's no way he deserves a chance just because he's an honest man who a few of the players have been told to admire in the press. Keep him with the Under 18s and get a proper tactician into the club who can fight Bates for every penny.
