Quite a good blog, although I disagree that we should wait before getting a new manager in.

The interesting stats are at the bottom, what I found most surprising was

" 70% of teams who are bottom at this stage of the season do not get relegated.

60% of teams who are second from bottom at this stage of the season do not get relegated

Oddly, only 50% of teams who are third from bottom at this stage do not get relegated"

I don't agree that we should have a caretaker manager for our most important season. That would be admitting defeat (I don't think we'll survive though).

It would be far easier to attract good players if we survive than if we're relegated and it's one step fewer to where we want to be.

I think we should have a high profile attacking coach (Kiwomya?) and a high profile defensive coach (Mills is the outstanding candidate) and a Manager, not a first team coach as we have had the last five years.

Simon Clegg, well he is a hindrance. But we're stuck with him.

I find it very hard to imagine Ipswich being relegated, simply because there is so many teams in the Championship and only three need to be worse than you. You're not out of touch at the bottom by any means so a half-decent manager should keep you up.

    Thank you DM <ok>

I have to agree with you, the standard of the Championship is very hit and miss and honestly I wouldn't say we are the worst team, however we have been the worst team for the past few weeks, and one of the worst since the start of the season and been particularly poor during important spells of matches and our level of inconsistency over 90 minutes has killed us. A new manager and a few wins could see things change but in reality if we do improve we will probably be fighting around the bottom 6 or 7 for most of the season because of our poor start and obvious frailties but like you said there are so many teams in this league and I'm sure atleast a couple will have a meltdown (hopefully three of them)

**** me, there's 30-odd games to go, we're only a win and a draw away from being out of the relegation zone, have a bit of common sense.
Yes, we're playing pretty **** at the moment, but there are a lot worse teams than us in this division, ok, unfortunately there are also a lot more teams way better than us.
