Sol Bamba has captained Leeds for the last three matches, and in that time not only has he helped them to three wins, they are also yet to concede a goal. But when Cooper came off the bench in the 91st minute, the armband was soon back on his person. That action prompted one Leeds fan to go on Twitter to ask Cooper why he had taken the armband off his teammate so late in the game. The 23-year-old swiftly replied, “Sol gave me the armband,” before adding another tweet which read, “I didn’t ask for it.” Leeds have already seen a number of players wearing the captain’s armband this season, two of whom – Jason Pearce and Stephen Warnock – are no longer at the club.
