    A TWITTER account claiming to be that of France and Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy has added fuel to the transfer fire surrounding his possible move to Newcastle United.

    The account, called @MathieuDebuchy, said: “If Newcastle United sign up Douglas, Teixeira, Luuk de Jong and a few others I’m not gonna lie I’m getting overly excited about the season ahead”.

    Interest around the defender has risen after he enjoyed a successful Euro 2012 campaign with several clubs including Newcastle, Chelsea and Inter Milan all citing interest in the 26-year-old.

    The Chronicle is still trying to verify the account’s authenticity, but cannot confirm at the present moment if it is genuine.
