FFP kicked in on June 1, so all the spending done from now on is under UEFA's new rules. That means that all the fees paid out will be in the reckoning for clubs breaking even over the next three years (2011/12 - 2013/14). However, because it is the first year, once we enter the next phase (2012/13 - 2014/15) that spending will no longer count. so the clubs only have to manage that spending for one year of assessment.

The logic is to basically to have one final splurge, stock up on young players and then live off that.

do you think we'll be indulging on some young talent, obviously in the past few years we've picked up one or two decent assests with many years left to play, and this would show some thinking behind selling nolan whos getting on now and while we still can replace him with a younger man.

Still no official confirmation, but NUFC.com seem to believe it has happened. I also think the lad's agent said it happened

NUFC.com are usually spot on with siginings, they don't just go with rumours they usually put something up when the deal is done.
