http://www.rednbluearmy.co.uk/crystal-ball/16-01-14-comparisons-hull-transfer-window-are-misguided While we could correct a few of his thoughts, I enjoyed the read......
Has anyone actually confirmed this reported wage of £50k p/w? I seriously doubt either Allam or Jr. Would agree to those wages when he knows what a mess these figures got us in before! Having said that, knowing what we know about his business acumen and his desire to run the club as such, if he thinks we can sustain it, then who am I to question him! Very excited to see the new lads too! UTT
Parachute payments have been increased and now amount to over £60m paid over four years. They are only cancelled at any point that a relegated club is promoted back to the Prem. 5.2m equals 74% of the parachute payment, what utter bo**cks! In the first year the parachute payment is c£20m so £5.2m amounts to nearer 26% of the parachute value. If you are going to write such an article at least get the facts straight!
Hey guys. I wrote the article and undoubtedly made some generalisations where your team is concerned and for that I apologise but I am obviously writing for a Palace blog and try to emphasise my point As for the £50k etc just merely what has been reported so that was what I had to go on. As for jealousy, never that. Good for you guys. Been to your ground (new and old) many times and always liked the intensity of your fans and thought the protest at the Palace Hull match this season was brilliant. Proper fans and the sort that deserve their team to do well.
Never claim anything to be fact. It's a discussion and, just like you, I have no inside knowledge of how much the parachute payments are and am speculating just like you are with your £20m.
I don't think that is the important point. I think the point he is trying to make is that even with the increase in wages due to the signings, the parachute payments will still cover their wages.
Parachute payments are over £60m, it is a fact... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22171365 Other than a few inaccuracies, I didn't think it was a bad article.
Palace position or Hulls......I think he answered that throughly throughout and then contradicted himself at the end.
Is any wage ever formally confirmed? I dont think it would be right if the club ever said how much a player earned. If I was a player and they did that I'd be furious.
I'm not sure, isn't there confidentiality laws regarding salaries etc? Or are confidentiality agreements just written into contracts? I can never quite put my finger on why anyone would release an individuals salary details, what is there to gain? I know fans want to know these things but its private information and if I was a footyer I wouldn't want the world to know about my income.
Just a really bitter reflection on them being one of the favourites for relegation. "Stealing our signings" ? 1) Since when were they linked. 2) Why would they want to go there and be relegated.
