I was just watching a quiz I recorded on Sky+ and a question came up which was about Stoke's joint favourite son, Josiah Wedgwood and it was: "Which famous person was the grandson of Josiah Wedgwood?" The three choices were David Lloyd George, Edward Elgar and Charles Darwin. The answer was Darwin, I never would of thought that the grandson of a Stokie would've been such an historical icon as Darwin, not a bad family!!! The other interesting bit of trivia was, at the end of the question mentioned above, the brainiac on the show who the contestants need to beat said that Edward Elgar was a lifelong Wolves fan who created the first ever football chant, and They banged the leather for goals was the name of it. Pointless and uninteresting to some but to sport and general weird facts geeks like me, very interesting indeed.
That is rather interesting. . . I've heard the Darwin one before somwhere, didn't know that about Elgar though. I watched a 2 hour documentary about Elgar that was full of random facts and trivia, never even mentioned he was a Wolves fan though.
Sgt, I never knew either mate very interesting. And, whover it was that got it right. He's a reet smart alec. Just a comment about Wolves Sgt, what a result for them this weekend too! I once went fishing in Wolverhamton, I reeled in this whale from the canal. Had to throw it back though. Cos, it didn't fit me bike. Just thought you would like to know that.
True Potts. The Wolves result just shows how tight the league is this season. I really do think at least 1 will go down with 40 points or more, what with so many sides picking up points from us downwards. We need to get to 46 points I reckon to be safe, so 13 more points needed for safety in my opinion.
