Why is it that when he talks about your form and our form in terms of Premier League results, yet Chelsea's form includes all competitions? In the league, Chelsea have won one and lost one since Di Matteo took over, hardly a revival.
Bit bored of this chelsea revival rubbish. They were very poor vs city and gave it away. City were nervy and didnt play well until tevez came on. Balotelli and dzecho are just poor compared to tevez. But chelsea messed it up. They cant keep the ball. their passing is poor and player for player they are weak with nothing to fear. Even mata is just a poor man's silva. He is good but far from exceptional. All the chavs have done is beat 2 championship sides and 10 man stoke at home. Hardly great. I expect a draw vs the spuds. That is obviously best for us too
Yeh but we need to think about ourselves first and spuds second. A draw and an arsenal win would be huge. We would still pull away from the spuds. Plus the spuds will bottle 4th anyway when the chavs get too close...
I suppose it is just that I cannot imagine the Spuds finishing above us, no matter what. The very idea just does not compute. However, there is every chance they could do better than the Chelski pensioners & that would mean them infesting the CL again, which would be bad.
Absolutly. But it would be made amusing by the fact that the chavs wouldnt be in it. Basically if we can get 3rd then we cant lose. The spuds will have to go through a play off if they get into the cl anyway. And with only 3 italian teams that could mean they draw someone like napoli or inter milan (although they need to recover their form to make top 3). And the chavs will be crippled with no cl football. The biggest budget in football and they cant even come top 4. What a joke of a club.
Given a choice, I''d rather see the chavs in the CL. No CL for the spuds will mean another 50 years in that crumbling ruin of a ground they call White Hart Lane. Did you know that the THFC ruin isn't on White Hart Lane and is in fact just as close to Campbell Road? Maybe they will rename it if they ever rebuild?
I notice that everyone is making a big deal about the Everton goal that was incorrectly ruled out for offside. I have quite a lot of sympathy with the official. All the replays I have seen stop the film a frame or two before the ball is played. Drenthe is at top speed running forward. Even if you take the fact that he is maybe 2 yards onside, with him at almost top speed and the defence stepping up as well, that the time between him being onside and offside was about 0.3 seconds. The official doesn't have the benefit of freezing the action and has to make a snap decision. When I coach kids, I try to make them aware that officials favour the defence and although the rule is that offside is judge when the ball is played, in reality it is judged half a second or a second after the ball is played. Most of the time if the defence is playing an offside trap, that second makes no difference to you getting clear of the defence. You shouldn't get a goal chalked off because you gave the official a decision to make.
What? You coach kids not to make defence splitting runs in case the officials have a tough job and get it wrong?????? Christ, your kids team must be bottom of the league!
I've never understood this obsession with 'form' and winning runs. I reckon they just happen by chance. Obviously the better you are the more likely it is that you will win a few games in a row, but luck plays a major part. We won't know until the end of the season whether Spurs' previous record reflects their true capabilities and the last few matches have been a blip and similarly for Arsenal. It is pretty clear that the teams are pretty close though.
He is indeed supposed the give the doubt to the attacker, but my experience is that it just doesn't seem that way. I haven't met many officials that are ever sure they are wrong.
I meant "If he was sure - then he was wrong!" It is impossible to be 'sure' about something that didn't happen! Officials should not get stick about missing stuff - that is inevitable. They should be sacked for making up stuff that didn't happen.
