After the most dramatic three years, where success came so quickly, with such a good group of people, I'm really disheartened to see two of the main components seemingly causing these recent worries. Why oh why would either of them contemplate leaving, I just don't get it! Paul Lambert is young, he has many years ahead of him to make these tough decisions, many years to further his career or damage it, whichever way it goes. Then theres Grant, at 31 he does not have the same luxury, this shall be his last big money maker contract. But one things for sure, he has earned a big contract after not just last season, but the previous three. But, I fear he is going about it the wrong way, I really hope he does not throw legend status down the pan on the advice of some agent. I hope these stories turn out to be media hyped, a bit of a storm in a tea cup, because being a Saint I can relate to the discomfort, the agony, the waiting in limbo as other teams start wrecking the next seasons plans before pre-season has even started. Keep the faith guys, the spirit you've created will surely give you hope & belief.
Thanks I am so confused about what's being going on. These two are two of the three most important people at the club. The third being McNally, our Chief Executive. If Holt was to leave we are fairly confident that Lambert would find a good enough replacement and if Lambert was to leave we are all fairly confident McNally would be able to find a good replacement. It certainly seems like odd timing. Holt is in the prime of his career and it could all fall apart elsewhere. We have seen that happen so many times with footballers. The same could be said for Lambert but he, as you said, has time on his side and could be a really successful manager. On a side note. I quite like Southampton. We have been relegated together twice and Southampton and Norwich have worked hard to get two successive promotions back to where we want to be. It was just unfortunate that both teams couldn't get promoted together twice due to your team's recent financial struggles.
but your boss told Liverpool to go forth , no such straight talk from our ma, come on Lambo show us you are Green and Yellow and tell the world you are staying and just get on with the blooming job!
